This was sort of wierd and I was hoping I might find a weedle bit of advice... I was meditating the other day and very suddenly felt light-headed, almost like I was going to pass out. I waited for a few moments--sort of "there" but not quite--and then just as quickly the feeling went away and I felt just fine.
Any ideas as to why this happened? Never happened before, just for the record.

My guess would be either you were starting to astral project, or just getting into a deeper stage of meditation. Were you uncomfortable/scared or just nervous about it? Or neither?

How deeply were you breathing? The spiritual possibilities aside, you might have been breathing too deeply - hyperventilating - and that could have caused the light headedness. Next time it happens, try putting your head between your knees and breathing slowly.

The breathing could have been it--but I didn't really think about it; I don't really notice how deeply I breath *winks* Although I wasn't scared at the time, either, or nervous--just sort of sitting there, mind floating... Huh.
Thanks for the help.... Just a little startling in hindsight so I wanted to clear it up! Thanks again!

Do you have naturally low blood pressure? Meditation tends to relax you, which will lower your blood pressure, so if it's low to begin with you may feel slightly lightheaded. I've had this happen; it took me awhile to figure out the reason. If it happens again, you could try standing up and see if it gets worse right after you stand up - if it does, it's probably low blood pressure. Of course, if you're drifting intos ome sort of other mental state, you don't want to move quickly and jolt yourself out of it.
