I never could find more than 20 minutes to meditate. I finally discovered that if I got up painfully early and then spent about a half-hour waking up, I could have an hour to meditate. It seemed to make up for some of the lost sleep plus the quality of my meditation seems better first thing in the morning.

Are you sure your not just lucid dreaming for an hour ;)
No really, that sounds like a good idea ~ but Im not a early worm so I like to meditate in the evening to calm my mind after the day. I have tried to meditate in the morning but found I just liked the evenings better :)

Most days, the early meditation is just great meditation. Some days, well, unless you can count a snore as a mantra . . . :zzz:
I agree with you that meditation later in the day is probably even better since it cancels out any stress from the day. Unfortunately, I've never suceeded in avoiding all of the interruptions that seem to come later in the day.
