Well I obviously did not have many like minded people in my life at that time, BUT....
As I was gathering the necessary elements for the croning ritual, I went to a new age/wicca store. I had gathered the things and the clerk (an older person than I). Ahhh what are you gathering this stuff for. I proudly announced that I had become a crone, and was preparing myself for the passage ceremony that I was gonna perform soon. She looked at me and said, "Do you still bleed periodically" to which I answered "Yes". She then asked me "Do you feel as though you have wisdom to impart" to which I answered "No". She then looked at me and said "Honey, I know you think you might be old, you may even feel old, but believe me that ain't nothin compared to how you feel when you are ready for the Croning Passage." "Besides, who do you think you are if you think you're a Crone and have NO wisdom to pass on." I had to laugh at that. I think in some way I was trying to come to grips with aging by somehow going through some ceremony. Well NOT YET, was the message that had been coming my way for a very long time, I just didn't get the hint until this conversation.

I say you are very young to think of yourself as a Crone. You may have much, much more to learn. When you are ready to pass on your wisdom is when you need to think of yourself as a crone. Crone is not a signifier that comes with age, but comes with the need to pass on your wisdom to the younger generation.

My opinions regarding consort father and sage: That consort should be our first stage implies that we have no other purpose; it also denies the concepts of youth and innocence which maiden embodies.
