BTW, is it bad that I don't know what "The Silmarillion" is?

GOSH!!!! friggin' IDIOT!!!!!!! just kidding. ;)
The Silmarillion is what extreme LOTR fans read...it's sort of like a back history of Middle-earth. It's actually a really good book.

"Extreme" fans? Does that mean you rebels go around without your pocket protectors?
LOL Just kidding.
Go get a squirt gun, fill it up with Nair, and the next time you see him, give him a couple shots to the back of his head. That will take care of that.

Is it bad that I thought that movie was incredibly stupid, and turned it off half an hour into it?

I need to get around to reading that... I am so lazy lately. I did get to see the trilogy in theaters (22hours in the theater!)

If I only saw it once then I might say yes, but during Christmas break everybody got a copy of it and all the relatives wanted to watch it whenever and where ever so I'm completely sick of it now and can see why someone wouldn't like it.

I'm so leery of lending books out because I've gotten them back with smears on the pages and the cover wrinkled so I feel for you. Don't lend anything else to this jerk 'cause he clearly has no respect for other people's stuff.

Oh, I've been meaning to read that too. Thanks for reminding me. LOL!
I lend my books out and always get them back all beaten up (poor things lol) but I still do it. I have this weird idea that it gives them character. Plus, they're usually pretty roughed up by the time I'm finished with them after being shoved into backpacks to read on the bus, etc.

I am going to stage a protest over the desecration of the holy Silmarillion text until the one who has defiled the holy writ comes forward. Who's with me!

Never read the book. But I guess I can relate. I'd be enraged to have a book I loved ruined. You should castrate him lol

Don't worry too much. A year from now you'll look back on this and laugh, especially if we find him and torture him. I've got the book-on-tape version if you're in dire need.

Just curious, if I may ask, why did he pour water on you? He sounds like a real a** to me.
Can you complain to somene so he'll have to replace it?

yeah, the guy is a REAL a**. Luckily, my faithful friend ran after him and poured coke all over him, so his terrible deed is avenged...and, today, I bought a new copy at Barnes and Noble...so my heart is at peace.

Never, ever lend books...Repeat after me...I am not a library.........
I know you didn't lend the book...but it's just a piece of wisdom I thought I would impart......
This is why Ken and I have a garage full of old books...
