I'm creating a Maiden, Mother, and Crone necklace and recalled that the common colors associated where red, white, and black respectively.

Is this true? I think I'm right...but there's a little nagging voice in my head that says I'm totally wrong!

Yep, you'd be right.

The colours for maiden, mother, crone are maiden = white, mother = red and crone = black.

That's my understanding as well. Here's one website that agrees...

Ya know, I had never heard this before, and I did not check the weblink in the other post, but this makes sense to me......thinking about the associations with these colors:

maiden=white=purity, untouched, innocence, clean
mother=red=blood of childbirth, passion/motivation/drive, protective
crone=black=mystery, death, that sort of thing (can you tell I haven't reached this phase yet LOL)

Interesting

Thank you so much guys! It's a good thing I asked because I thought that the maiden was red....see I knew I was wrong!

Well you almost had it right.

It depends on the symbolism used.
I've seen both red, white, black... and white, red, black.
In the case of red for maiden, it was used as the red for menstration. And the white for mother as the fullness of the mother moon.

Yup, I agree! :) I use red for the maiden as a colour of fierce, independent passion. For the mother, I use white... almost as a display of the purity of motherhood, the blinding power of bringing forth life. And, of course, black for the crone. But you can use red for her too! :) Crones can be sexay!
