I have a lovely citrine pendant that I've been wearing for a while now. Thing is, I just realized that it's hanging right smack-dab on my heart chakra, and the only other option is a bit below my throat chakra.
Is it detrimental to wear a stone against a chakra that it's not associated with?

There is no problem wearing jewelry on a chakra that is not mainly linked with the stones
the stones will find their way to you through the chakras directly or through the aura field.
if you had someone check your chakra function, they would see, that your manipura / solar plexus chakra (3) will be stimulated through wearing your citrine regardless where it is worn, even in the pocket of your jeans.
so no worries ;)

Thank you. :)
you are welcome.
pleas emind also, that if the pendant is not natural citrine, but the commonly used 'citrine' in jewelry, which is heated amethyst, not the third chakra will be stimulated but the 7th (sahasrara, crown)

I have a pic; not overly clear for some reason. You can't see the 'snowy' effect in the white area, nor the crystally effect in the amber color. I hope the pic isn't too big...
And...if it :is: actually a heated amethyst, then I'm not getting any citrine benefits at all, am I? L* :sailing:

it unfortunately indeed is a heated amethyst.
as 95% (at least) of all citrine jewelry are either colour enhanced, dyed or most commonly heated amethysts
because natural citrine is pale yellow and rarely has the intense yellow colour, but people all want citrine jewelry so man uses enhancements methods to comply the needs of the market.
a deep yellow citrine can easily cost really much, so thats why poeple rather choose the cheaper alternative.
as for healing prosperities.
the heated amethyst citrine, which I call and write Zitrine in german as opposed to Citrin (aka natural)
i know some people who claim, that natural citrine also is heated amethyst just heated in the earth, while the man made is heated faster, but it will be no difference. stop.
i do feel it being different.
Zitrine *can* cause depression, while Citrine is used to ease and dissolve them
Zitrine produces heat, while Citrine provides warmth
Zitrine goes to the head - and *may* cause head-aches while Citrine goes to the solar plexus
and no, as from my experience you have just the the looks, but non of the healing prosperities
sorry to say though :sadman:

Well, zao gao! (swear)
That just really stinks that they do that because one purchases a stone for a particular reason at times...interesting about the depression as I've been feeling so.
I took it off this morning and am instead wearing my lovely amethyst necklace.
Thank you so very much for your help! :)

I understand your frustration. I have attached a quote from my own businesses code of honour, which is also stated on ym web-site
§ 4 Code of Honour by www.czechwoodsgems.de
4. We make sure that you don't get any fake, synthetic or otherwise beautified stones without them being declared as such.
Because on the other hand we don't want to urge you, which stones you should like or not, we also offer some synthetic, lab-made, dyed or otherwise altered stones. Yet we follow strict guidelines of declaration. These guidelines are far stricter than international standards. Even those altering methods where a declaration due to world trade standards is not given, we will contrary to a majority of suppliers inform you without fail.
It is because there are treatement methods that are accepted within the jewelry and lapidary business that they are not declerable, but as you very decently pointed out, it leads to confusion for the customers.
Especially for stone healing purposes, consequent declaration and frank information of the customer should stand above the money making interests. Unfortunately, I am among a minority of stone dealers who will abide by such strict guidelines without fail, because unfortunatelly too, most customers go by price (the cheaper the better) rather than by quality and are eagerly willing to bull themselves or getting bulled just to make a "bargain".
sorry for the rant here, but it is my experience that the less honourable vendors make better profits and more money - are more successful, than the frank ones.
