A thread in just talk got me thinking

What do you wish you had known as a new parent?

I know I wish I had known more about teething, and how to tell a kid about the changes they would have with puberty.

I wish I had known to start buying formula and recieving blankets while still pregnant and diapers!!!

I wish I had known they always use more diapers than you think they will and can get into everything no matter where you hide it.

I wish I had known baking soda will take food coloring off a childs body to where they only have a slight tinge of color.

I wish I had known to buy or get a freezer and start freezing meals in advance so I wouldn't have to cook right after the baby or when I was up while they were feeding, sick or teething.

I wish I had set up and met with babysitters before having my children so I would have someone for emergencies.

I wish I had known the different faces of PPD.

I wish I had known about the troubles I'd have with breastfeeding so I could make the right decisions rather than stressing out and panicing about being perfect.

I wish I had known that there's no such thing as a perfect parent. (I still have trouble with this one).

....I'll have to think about this more and come back later....for now, it's bed time. :)
