Herbal First Aid Kits
There are a lot of variations in what you can use for an herbal first aid kit, but here is one that I would most likely make due to the resources I have.
First of all your first aid kit, your remedies should be in a box or something to store it in and make sure it is in a cool place that is out of the reach of children.
Marigold Cream
Often sold as "Calendula", this is antiseptic and anitfungal. It is useful for all sorts of cuts and scrapes
Comfrey Ointment
Use only on clean cuts because the rapidly healing skin may trap dirt inside the cut.
Chickweed Cream
A valuable remedy for drawing stubborn splinters, boils and insect stings to, or can be used for burns and scalds.
Lavender Oil
Is good for headaches.
Tea Tree Oil
Antiseptic and antifungal for cuts and abrasions, as well as warts, and cold sores
Distilled Witch hazel
Use this for minor burns and sunburns. Soak a swab in Witch Hazel to staunch the flow of blood from wounds and soothes insect bites.
Assignment 2
Make your own herbal First aid kit.
You can make your own kit using the preparations that were in Lesson 1.
The following should be included in your write up for this assignment
Herb Name – and its use
How you would prepare the herb – refer back to Lesson 1 if need be.
or If you were buying it what would be its shelf life – or how long would you be able to keep the product.
