Ok, I know this HAS to be asked COUNTLESS times, but I'm without religion right now. I mean, I have faith in something, and I feel a closeness with a god (no matter how many there may be...in fact, I'm posting something in the Gods and Goddesses forum right now), but I have found myself creeping up on the Pagan path. Before I jump in and say "yay, I wanna' be Pagan!" I want to know about it. I find this faith interesting and I feel a closeness to it, but I don't want to jump into something that may not be right to me.

So my question...Does anyone have anything they can tell me about this faith?

Hee-- SS, you're in Pagan Central right now! :D;)

Seriously, do a search through the forums, specifically Newbies, and I'd bet you'd be pretty close to finding everything you're looking for.

Could you narrow it down a little-- what kinds of things do you want to know?

:D:)

Okay....maybe a specific would be good because there are just SO MANY facets of Paganism, ya know?

I don't want to echo, but try a search, or pick up a book from the library. Sometimes it's hard to pick the very broad topic of Paganism....so you gotta narrow it down and say, I'll learn about (blank) right now. And, when you have at least a basic understanding of that faith/ideaology...you try another. Till you get a view of many different types of Pagans. And, there are just so many kinds.

Hey MistoftheSea, did you realize that posted twice?

Hehe, I knew that I was going to get asked for a specific...

Well, the thing is, I'd ask "I'd like to know about this" if I knew more about the faith...but the problem is, I don't know where to start. I mean, I'm not too interested in rituals and ceremonies and whatnot...I'm interested in like the more spiritual stuff, not a physical representation of what my spirit is feeling. I mean, I dunno if I posted this here or in another thread, but I'm not too much into any kind of organized religion, just looking for something close to me personally.

Here are some questions:

Where did you guys learn of Paganism?? I mean, what were your sources when you were new to the path? How well did they help you??

Maybe start thinking about your interests as well. Do you like gardening? Long walks in the woods? There were a couple of good threads on Green Witchcraft. I'll see if I can find them for you.

Here's one...

And another...

Did you check out the Druid forum as well?

Green! Yes! I love gardening! I love walks in the woods (wish I had some woods around here). In fact, I was just thinking about how people who are vegetarians because they don't like to hurt the earth's creatures made me go "hmmm" because I see the plants as the earth's creatures. I mean, they're living...

...ok that had little to do with anything ^.^ but oh well! If that answers anything...I see plants as being just as important as animals...and if you don't want to eat living things you shouldn't eat plants either. I think when you eat, you should be greatful, and if you're going to give thanks, give thanks for everything...I mean, I know if i was an asparagus stick I'd want someone to be thankful that I gave my life to feed them just as much as they thanked the chicken on their plate...

....Mweehee...

You might be interested in the thread we have going in the Book forum. We're doing a book study on the Green Witchcraft book by Ann Moura right now.

Wow, thanks WildChild. I'll check it out. Until then...perhaps I'll check out these other sources.
