I just received the following e-mail:


Bright Blessings Steve Coslett,

I just got off the phone with Tempest Smith's mother. She is very happy to
hear that the Pagan community has embraced Tempest and her story. She seems
to be doing well and this has become a spiritual event for her in some very
real way.

She would very much like to receive cards and letters from the Pagan
community. Her address is:

Why dont we start a thread and offer blessings and support to this woman. After a few days I can print it off and send it to her in the name of this Community and everyone in it.

I would still like for people to send cards too, gives it more of a personal touch. I want the local post office to have to deliver those cards because I know that mail folks always talk about someone getting a lot of cards and that would be a very effective thing for people to see that this kind of thing is intolerable and does not go unnoticed.

Eek. Already done. I Stuck it to the top of this Forum. Mainly because this Forum gets a LOT of traffic.

Thanks Mol, My heart is heavy where once it was light, and my tears are from one Mum to another, who knows the pain of a lost child.

I used to work with teenage boys where I lived before,who had all been bullied, or thrown out of their homes, etc. I managed to help some of them, but not all. One particular young boy, called Noel, threw himself in front of a train at the local station, on his 16th birthday. I had to go and identify him, (he was staying with me), because his "Mum" was busy at work. He left a note for me, with a beautiful self portrait which still hangs in my home. The note thanked me for my love and concern, but said that it was too late for him because the world was such a hateful place, and he was so unloveable. Breaks your heart doesn't it. I try not to agree with his views on the world, but when you hear things like poor Tempest, it's very difficult.
