Basic astrology info...

I'm a bit new here, so do forgive me if someone else has asked these questions, and I'm being redudnant. If that's the case, simply point me in the right direction. :)

I'm rather unsure on the general basics of astrology, such as the houses, ascending, descending, etc, and what they all mean, and how the relate. Can anyone recommend a sight, or book that makes it simple? I've tried to read a few, but they all seem to get rather complex, and I get confused rather quickly.

Also, does anyone know of a good astrological software that a business could use for charts, reports and such? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks bunches. :)

Hi there...oh i'm not even gonna /try/ to spell your name! :lol: I remember you from Mother's Magic though. :)

I'd have to say the best book for a beginner would be "The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need" by Joanna Woolfolk. I just saw it the other day, and they have a new revised edition out right now. It gives you info on a lot of the basics without being too jargony to understand. The title is a little misleading though...if you really want to go deep into astrology, you'll need a lot more than one book! :lol:

Ankh', there are on this forum some instructions in astrology that I have wirtten. At the bottom of the forum listing go to 45 days earlier instead of the standard 30-day record. Although I am an adherent to the Sidereal Zodiac, and have been for over 32 years, what is presented is applicable to both( Sidereal and modern ,Tropical) systems. If you hav any questions about Astrology, either myself ,Litha, or Swanspirit (or some others for that matter) will be most happy to help you.

Kady, just shortening it to Ankh is fine. :) I think I've seen that book, and thought about getting it, just didn't know much about it. Also saw one called something like K.I.S.S.'s Astrology guide, or something, and I know that the K.I.S.S. stands for Keep It Simple, Stupid. :p

Surprisingly I find the Complete Idiot's guide to Astrology is pretty good too! In the beginning, I bought every astrology book my store had! :lol:

I haven't seen the KISS book yet...but Swanny, are you nuts! Rudhyar for a beginner? :lol: I've been studying this stuff for years, and even I have to read over his sentences like a 100 times before I get what he's saying! He's rather...I don't know...wordy is the only word that comes to mind right now. :D

LOL....... Well...... SOME of the things that Rhudyar has done are not ahhhh well quite as complex as some others..BUT.. he just cuts right to the heart of everything......for instance from THE LUNATION CYCLE........
