( I moved this Poll from Dreams and Divination in hopes I might get more replies )
I have used the Ogham woods in my Divination, with great success for the last
30+ years.
I am interested in knowing if you have tried both methods and what one
you prefer.
I made my own set of Ogham Woods using (given North American availability)
the wood that the Ogham symbol represents. Problem was, everyone who
watches when I cast the woods, wants a set of their own. So - - - I started
my own web site to sell them.
Should you wish to view them http://www.centerofthegrove1.com

druidjim :wave:The only things I do with Runes are refer to them to see how the Norse viewed the worlds and the knowledge that flows through them. I do (this with Ogham) to perhaps better understand what the Ogham have to say. In fact (to broaden and deepen the ways that Ogham are universal in divination), I try to be aware of the many different ways that Indo-European traditions performed divinations.
I prefer the Ogham (in divination) as it is to me a complete Celtic/Druidic system for divination. I've only been using them for about 17 years now so I've a ways to go. I've been doing (or I should say having them happen to me) divinations my entire life (which is to say for 54 conscious years and maybe for about 2 unconscious years).
I appreciate anyone who makes Ogham sets available to the public (one of my Ogham sets came from such an offering), especially those that are made by hand and by a Druid. The set you offer appears to be very attractively done. I have a few questions about the "treasure signs" (that you've included with your Ogham set). Are these (representative of) the Four Treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann? What (uses) do you recommend for the blank stave? Is that intended only for a replacement or can it be used as a blank during divinations? The reason I ask is that I've developed a system of Ogham and Sanskrit correspondences for the House of the Moon. Since there are 25 Ogham signs in the usual Ogham Craoibh, this means that two additional signs are required to address 27 Houses of the Moon. I have used the "flesc" (an Ogham fidh with a line but no scores) and "bearna" ( a gap, as in "the gap of danger" perhaps a blank or a fidh with two opposing and seperated feather marks) for the other two fedha. One I associate with the Sacred Tree while the other I associate with the Depths.
Do you cast your Ogham fedha or is your divination system strictly based on picks and spreads?

I use the twenty tree-letters of the ancient Ogam alphabet, along with their associations, meanings and unique wisdom. The "treasure signs" are from Cath Tanaiste Maige Tuired ( The Second Battle of Moytura ).
"And they brought from the four cities their four treasures: a Stone of Virtue from Falias, that was called the Lia Fal, the Stone of Destiny; and from Gorias they brought a Sword; and from Finias, a Spear of Victory; and from Murias the fourth treasure The Cauldron that no company ever went away from unsatisfied."
These Celts brought the Four Treasures with them when they conquered Ireland and later were indeed called in Irish "Tuatha De Danann" or The Children of Danu.
I use the blank stave in certain castings to denote the present, no past and no future. It is a reference point and guide when I use all twenty Ogham tree signs in Free Oghamcasting, I have found this the most rewarding. Using this blank stave makes my reading accuate as to Past, Furthermost, Shadow side or Positive side.
When I am the Oracle, for questions of circumstance or inner truth, I use a certain pick or spread.
I have found enlightenment and knowledge in Irish poetry as there are many descriptions of Druid and bard figures experiencing divine inspiration through the medium of the great trees.
Since there are many planes of deep otherworldly knowing and insight I will enjoy reading the Sanakrit correspondences for the House of the Moon.
Thank you for your input.
