I'm the only person in the 60 plus range (I just turned 60) Aren't there any older pagans? I know there are but where are you?

Does age really matter? We're all friends here!

I've been told that I sound like I'm anywhere between 50 and 35... the weird thing is I'm going to be 23 in about three weeks.
The way I see, it age matters only as much as you choose to let it. :) After all, that's the reason why a 97 year old woman I know has the courage to go out rollarblading. :D
Aside from that, she says the secret to longevity is Lorna Doone cookies and dill pickles. <shrugs> I don't understand that one.

Yeah! I'm not the youngest! I find people just sluff of the young, saying if your not a crone you don't know enough to play with us - So Nyah! I don't like that...
I don't think its how old you are, but who you are. How you act and think.

19, 20 in January.
This is a place of learning, sharing.. a place of PLUR
Peace Love Unity and Respect.. and thats a good thing.
Sometime age gets in the way, and theres no reason to feel alone here... no matter what.
So I'm a fanatic for a good musical, but todays quote stems from The King and I
"It's a very ancient teaching, and a true and honest thought, that if you become a teacher, by your pupils you'll be taught."
Here where there are so many younger people not even at thier potential "middle age" which is not so "middle" anymore, it's great to see people from different walks in life. It helps all of us put aside the barriers that society imposes on us. Because of this we all get to be teachers and students in this place. We can learn and understand each other more when the pressures of the heirarchy that ageism dictates we should follow are lifted. We are all on a level playing field here.. which means everyone gets a chance to say what they think and feel without getting stepped on for lack of experience, or being out of date.
So really this is to all people 2 to 200 years young, just relax, with the beverage of your choice, and enjoy the experience of being that which is your soul and core existance here. Share the wisdom your experience has given you.
"Sing out your songs
and bring out your stories
and rhymes
Weave from your dreams;
the mystical dances
that lead hearts to binding"

I never meant to infer that age is a barrier. I don't feel or look 60 (so I'm told). I love to learn from whoever or whatever I can. I think that people at various stages of life have various perspectives and some have been through more than others (though we've all been through LIFE) So, age is not a problem for me. I just was wondering if there are many "older" Pagans here (chronologically older). Oh, there is one big difference between younger and older, depending on when you were born, MUSIC. What music you are familiar with can often tell me how old you are. I think that's neat. Take care all you lovely Pagans. Oh, by the way, send some healing energies my way. I'm having major surgery mid-November and I need all the help I can get. Not life threatening but it won't be pleasant. Thanks. 'doe

Ok I'm only 22 but I've been through 22 years of operations and heart meds (blood pressure, beta blockers, etc.....) so that adds like 70 years on your life...................so really I'm 92 ..............damn I'm old :p
but we are all your friends................sometimes we get into tiffs with eachother , but don't all brothers and sisters????hummmm;)

I didn't say you inferred anything, nor that you were against learning or presented a barrier. *smiles* That was the last way my post was intended to be taken, but i can see how it could be taken that way.
I merely meant to say don't feel left out.
I was actually quite shocked that everyone here is so young. Most of the pagan\wiccan community I know is 20-30 years my senior.
Music huh?
I think I'll have to start a new thred on that!

Actually, it can be hard to say that musical tastes change that much. I listen to everything except for "new country" and "new rap". That encludes music from hundreds of years ago all the way to music from this month. At work, I mostly listen to "oldies" from the 50's and 60's. (I wonder, when did these songs become oldies? I seem to remember music from the 30's and 40's being the oldies at some point)
I'm just a freak I guess... Damn my musical aptitude. :)

I'm apr the same. I listen to everything though *laughs*
I'm a lover of music, song and dance of all types.
If it makes me happy, or fills me in some way i like it.
If I could live my life the way I wanted to.. it would be a musical with one HECK of a soundtrack!

i feel that age is like sexual preference.... see the person first.. age and gender and sexual preference aree just some of the interesting details...
However... it is sometimes startling to look at the passage of time...
There's a Canadian group.. the Wyrd Sisters... have a cut on their latest album...
i guess it's all right, we've been lucky so far -
Look where we've come from.. Look where we are.
And i guess we should know by now...nothing's too hard -
Keep your hands on the wheel and your hearts on fire.
i'm 53 going on whatever.... i've decided i don't need to decide what i want to be when i grow up.. because now i might not have to.... :) (Skips around the board scattering rose petals and grinning) bb talamh (watches people roll their eyes.. geeze.. another freekin fadin flower chyld.....!) grins

I'm 29 myself, I'm not going to say that I'm sorry that your 60 or that your as young as you feel but what I will say is that I'm envious of anyone who achieves seniority. Those who are at least 55+ have seen so much, experienced so much, and learned (hopefully) so much. I may go extinct tomorrow or even tonight and I have not filled my life with all its' treasures. Aging for me is a wonderful thing, most of the time, and of course I have those rare days that I fear the process but soon I realize all that I want to experience, then getting old becomes an ally from that point on. I am writing this half asleep so if parts of it make no sense, please forgive my fatigued self. Love to all and good night.......

46 in Salem, Or., and loving it. the body isn't as nimble as it once was, but car wrecks will do that at ANY age. but overall i've never been younger (starts singing, "but i was so much older then, i'm younger than that now". damn! i MUST be old!).
if i'd known i'd live this long, i'd have taken better care of myself!

I have gotten lots of replies to this age business. It must have resonated with a lot of people. I think this minute, which is all I have, at the age of 60 is just fine. I was far too "straight" when I was younger - didn't enjoy life enough. But now I'm having a blast. So this is a good time for me. Thank you all for responses. By the way, Acie, you are a wise person. Smiles and hugs to you all.
