Sorry I am putting a lot of posts here but I am a stone and crystal enthusiast and it just feels great to be able to talk about it.
I was wondering what the connection between rhodochrosite and rhodonite and the differences? Often the two are mentioned together but to me the differences don't appear that clear.

no need to excuse yourself.
your questions are wonderful, and this forum is about that, asking questions and sharing experiences.
Your answer is on its way, I am about typing it up first. Sorry for the delay

here it is :lookwhats
the things in common :
:bouncingb both stones contain manganese
:bouncingb both stones are conected to the heart chakra / chakra 4 / anahata
:bouncingb both stones are or contain pink
now the differences:
:fpoke:
rhdochrosite is a manganese carbonate
rhodonite is a calcium-manganese silicon-row mineral
:fpoke:
rhodochrosite is much more rare and thus expensive than rhodonite
when you look at the abnenr in my signature, the bright pink stones are the excellent quality of rhodochrosite, each of those pieces easily topping 40 USD
:fpoke:
rhodochrosite has strong vibes to all chakras except for ch. 5 / throat / vishuddha
rhodonite vibrates to the root chkra (1/muladhara) and the heart chakra anahata (ch 4)
:fpoke:
rhodochrosite is connected with activity; it activates, creates happiness, ehances sensuality and the libido
eases the tasks at hand (no pun intended, pg-13 after all)
rhodonite is linked to the healing of wounds, helps forgiving (self and others), enhances mutual understanding
it is seen as one of the strongest healers of injuries, bleedings and bites/stings of insects
the reason the two stones are mentioned together is probably that people cant keep them apart in their minds, because the names are similar.
the healing capacities though differ a lot
and so does the vibe you get from the stones
people who know these stones well, would not mix them
besides, here is more info on both:

and the rhodonite

within these threads, the stones will be discussed further

Wow! Wonderful and very clear. I also was led to believe that the two were connected but now it appears that there's much more to it. How can I thank you? Really appreciate answering my question and I hope I can help you out some day too. Thanks!
