I hate the Navy!

Blergh! I had just gotten all warm and fuzzy with the idea that my husband would be gone from now until the end of July on an assortment of missions all over the Western Hemisphere. But wait! Now he'll be home on Friday to keep me company until the end of July and gone until September instead. Dang it, I had made all sorts of travel plans since my daughter was going to be out of town too, and now I have to cancel them.

They did that to my husband. In January they said he would leave in Febuary for a six month stint over seas. A week before he was to ship out they cancelled and said instead of six months it will be a year starting in the fall.

I was very ready for him to be gone. I desperately need some time alone to myself.

We need the steady money. The good news is we will go from dirt poor to having all of our debts paid off by the time he comes home. We will be completely debt free! While he is gone we will put a new roof on the porch, vinyl siding on the house, refinish the floors, replace the doors, waterproof the basement, finish the sunroom, replace the deck, fence the yard, redo the bathroom entirely with new tub, sink ect and put cabinets in the kitchen, plus rewire the house. When he comes home he won't recognize it. I will be doing most the work with TripsieD from here at MW. At least we already own our house free and clear which is nice.

Ah yes! that is the wonderful thing about the extra pay from deployments. Congratulations! I know you'll miss him, but the money helps.

Unfortunately these next few excursions for my husband will only be detatchment missions, his first deployment will be in December or so. We too will be paying off all of our debts with the income, student loans and all.

Blergh! It just gets better and better. I just heard from one of the other wives that not only will they be home this week, but they will be coming home a day early.
