Once again, Merry Meet!

Ok, now I'd really love to here some opinions on this topic. I bought my son a new fantasy type novel. It's about a boy Vampire that's given up his thirst for blood, and he falls in love with a female Witch.

Now, my question to you, is should I address the stereotypes about Witches and the reality of being a Witch with my son?

I don't want to limit his intake of different reading material, I just want his mind opened to the realities of how things are!

Blessed Be, and Merry Part,

Yeah. Yeah, I think you should. How old is he? Maybe offer some books of your own. But don't dump it all on him at once. That might cause some judgements to be made to quickly.

Hi and Blessings Isis !!!
I have been wondering the same thing ?????
I am allowing my daughter who is 10 to read anything I have ( within reason ), and In my heart I believe i'm doing the right thing.
My son whos almost 4, is still reading Disney with me though ( LoL ) .

It could discourage them from reading. Instead, ask if they have any questions about what they read. And suggest from time to time reading material. Of course it must be something that they are interested in. Also, read it yourself, cause if it greatly teaches against something that is important to your family then you may need to make a stand.

Age is also a big factor, and what they already know about said subject.

my little sisters, who im practically second mum to, are still a bit young, but anna (4 yrs) has started asking questions already about stuff like praying and 'why doesnt kelly have a black pointy hat?' (kelly is a friend of mine whos a wiccan, which anna equates with a witch).
i try to juss answer her questions honestly as they come up because im realistic, i know that i spend a lot of time with her therefore shes gonna ask questions about the things i do.
however, i want her to make her own decisions, so some nights we ll read something outta the bible and talk about it, other nights we ll read a celtic myth, and talk about it. this way, shes getting a view from both sides and she can make her own mind up when shes ready.
i dont know if that helped isis! i kinda got off track there! :)

take care and brightest blessings,
bans. :bubbles:
