The assignment is to read over the lesson and pock one method to use and actually try it . Do a write up about the herb, why you chose it and the method you are using and then post in this thread.
(If you cannot afford herbs or other items needed for the method you wanted to try we will come up with an alterative assignment for you. More about that when the issue arises.)

I decided to make a tea of lemongrass. I chose this because at the time I had a stomach ache, I shouldn't really go on...  and this method seemed easy to do. It kind of worked but I think if I had some every day it would help me overall

I decided to try making some syrup..I only made a small batch to try,and must say it turned out almost if not the same taste of Mrs Buttersworth.lol
4 cups of distilled water
3 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of pure maple(The maple was made by a friend, poured it in the snow to cool when he was boiling it,then we picked up the clumps and put them in freezer bags and froze them.this winter)
1/4 cup of homemade butter I made..(you can do this with fresh cream from o'l betsy.
put in a blender and whip till clumpy, then take a old alum pie pan and poke lots of holes in it with a needle, take the clumps of butter from blender and put in pie pan and let any liquid left to drain out and work the butter around till you can get it to form soild. You can add salt or seasalt to it by mashing a dash into it with a fork, then form into a container of any shape ya want.
Slowly bring your sugar and water to a lite rolling boil, add your maple clumps and butter till melted..Dont over boil it or it will turn crystal form stir constantly till everything is melted. If the syrup looks too thick, you may add a little more water to it..Let it cool enough to put into a Masson jar..
Damn was it good..yummm..

Most generally I use infusions.I have many different herbs and it's so hard to choose just one! I suppose I will choose lavender this time.
I like to make an infusion with Lavender flowers to help soothe the nerves after a long stressful day at work. Lavender is also great as an antidepressant.
I steep one ounce of lavender flowers in a pint of boiling water, covered, and sweeten with sugar or honey depending on my sweet tooth. _happydanc

I will be working on an infusion for my project. in researching I have learned that herbal infusions can be used in magickal endeavors for things such as increasing ability to communicate with spirits, ease of astral projection, and psychic ability boosting. one of the herbs I have been researching that is used in some cultural magick is Salvia. so I have begun growing some. it is about 8 inches tall now and flowering, so this weekend I will be picking some leaves to start drying and pulverizing. then I will be experimenting with some different additives (all herbal) to increase power in these areas. will keep you posted how it turns out.

I chose a Headache Tea Recipe that i use often, because i suffer from Migrane's. This tea help's sooth my entire body including my migrane. It works for me and i love it. All the herbs in this recipe work great together, they sooth and relax you. The medicinal benefits of this tea is it soothes my migrane and i take less excedrin migrane for my migranes. This is the recipe:
Headache Tea Recipe:
Ingredients:
Lavender
Chamomile
Rosemary
Mint
Put a pinch each of Lavender, Chamomile, Rosemary, and Mint in a coffee filter, and then place it in your coffee maker. Otherwise, place the mixture in a teaball and leave it in a mug with enough water for one serving. Brew. Within about 15- minutes to a half hour of drinking this mix, you should be feeling quite tired and less sore. Be sure to have a comfortable place to sleep, and your headache will disappear.
Like i said it works for me and may work differently for others.
Hope this is good.

Well, I'm afraid that I chose to make a tincture, which I have made before. I wanted to try something different that I have never done before but the timing just worked out that I needed a mugwort tincture so I went with that.
I used mugwort that we have growing in our herb garden. It's all natural & organic with NO pesticides. I had dried some of the spring crop this year so I used that. I put the mugwort in and poured 100% vodka over it. I also added moonstone, labradorite, flourite & a herkimer diamond.
I started it on the full moon in June so it will be done this full moon.
I chose to make this because my cousin & I are going to have a divination night later this month. We're going to take a few drops and try some candle magick & some scrying. I've had luck with mugwort in the past for increasing psychic awareness. I chose the stones I did because they are all personal favorites and I find they work best to help with divination/psychic awareness.
I hope it's ok I posed even though the tincture won't be done until this full moon.

djc114 it sounds good what you have done but for this lesson it was for healing or health pruposes. We will be covering magickal uses later. But please let me know how it goes ok ?

Well I did a tummy tea. I used one of my favorites chamomille for relaxing, peppermint for upset, and rosehip for flavor. I used this in an infusionof 1 teaspoon to 12 oz of water.
Really is nice for indigestion. I did read that peppermint is contraindicated for acid reflux, so if that is where your indigestion leads don't use this tea. Try Bicarbonate of Soda (Baking Soda) per package directions.
