Cancer is the first of the water signs. Being ruled by the Moon, it should be no surprise that this sign often feels like the "Mother" of the zodiac. Cancer traits include wanting to mother and protect things, using emotions rather than reason as first reaction. Cancers feel and they feel reactively. There is no processing the emotion and understanding it (that needs aspects), there is just the emotion.

Cancers can be one of the most loving signs, and it can be one of the crulest. It really depends on how secure the Cancer planet is.

Cancer is a sign I identify with very well. I'm born 3 days after the sign change and I definitely can feel its left over energies also sidereal wise I am a double cancer.

Its weird because my tropical sun in leo in the 12th house reads much like my sidereal sun and ascendant in cancer and both methods describe me very well. :hmmmmm:

Also In my sidereal chart I think my ascendant is in the third decanate so I see a little pisces influence there.

I've got a cancer moon but I can't say I understand this sign in the slightest.

Cancerians have very powerful emotions, and are often ruled by them, but tend to retreat into a protective shell when they feel threatened (the "crab" image). They need a lot of security, and when they do feel safe they can be very loving, sensitive and maternal.

People with the Moon in Cancer can tend to be homebodies with a very deep emotional connection to their homes. They will probably tend to take on a maternal role in their close relationships. They can be prone to mood swings, but are very caring.

Good everyone. Being ruled by the Moon, Cancer's emotions can swing either way. They can be extremely nuturing and loving, or cruel. It does depend on how secure they feel in their enviroment. This is exceptionally true with their relationship with their mother.

An insecure Cancer can become an emotional sinkhole. As always, check with other aspects in a chart to determine which way the Cancer energy will swing.

Sun in Cancer-On the light side we are talking about the good mother, the one who does the budget organizes herself and the church rectory, belongs to the chuch social club, and may be a flag waver for the cause.

On the dark side we have a vane slob, which may shift the truth for their own benefit, a bit on the lazy side. May resent the good fortunes of others.

Moon in Cancer-The moon is home here. Finds the line of least resistance when possilbe, a real home body that like people. May be empathetic. Is influence by their surrounding for good or evil. Loves to travel and my have a job in which he travels a lot.
