Does anyone know anything about this? The only info I've been able to find is that the had very similar monthly zodiac signs, sometimes listed with different names, but essentially the same. I'm wondering if this is true. Also, did they have a yearly zodiac, similar to the Chinese system? Any information anyone might know would be great. :)

Most of our understanding of Egyptian astrology is contained within the Cairo Calendar, which consists of a listing of all the days of an Egyptian year. The listings within the calendar all take the same form and can be broken up into three parts: I, the type of day (favorable, unfavorable etc), II, a mythological event which may make a particular day more favorable or unfavorable, III, and a prescribed behavior associated with that day. Unlike modern astrology as found within newspapers, where one can choose whether to follow the advice there in or not, the Egyptians strictly adhered to what an astrologer would advise. As is evidenced by the papyrus of the Cairo Calendar, on days where there were adverse or favorable conditions, if the astrologers told a person not to go outside, not to bathe, or to eat fish on a particular day, such advice was taken very literally and seriously.

was definitely Sidereal. In fact, their Pantheon of gods was based on an Ennead (upon the rulership of 9 gods). The 9 gods is a direct reference to the Solar Enneads of the Pharoah's Solar Astrological portent at the hands of the priests. Also, that their new year began with the Libra Solar Ingress (typical with all ancient societies) which was the Suns's conjunction with the star Spica at 29* 59' 48" Sidereal Virgo. It is not clear if they used a system of houses, as no direct evidence (at least to this writer's knowledge) that such had ever been developed.

I only know that the sign Gemini was associated with the twin gods Tefnut and Shu (sp?)

has been doing Project Hindsight for years..... translating ancient texts...... says this
about Egytptian Astrology......

Pharaonic Egypt had a great interest in astronomy. This is evident in too
many ways to mention. But it was the kind of astronomy that involved
stars rather than planets. The Egyptians were masters of aligning
buildings, temples and especially the pyramids to fixed stars, apparently in
an effort to bring about sympathy between terrestrial structures and the
stars with which they were associated.

Their ability to survey and align buildings with stars was incredibly
accurate, often within minutes of arc of the perfect alignment. But they do
not seem to have had any planetary theory, nor did they have the proper
mathematical techniques.

One reference that may be of interest here is the Sacred Tradition in Ancient Egypt which contains an entire chapter devoted to Kemetic astronomy and astrology.

As I flip through it I see that there were a number of zodiacs.
