i can't figure out what these 5 are. I've had them for about a year and forgot all the names.

and the 4th one is actually green and black, didn't show too well in the picture.
all the other colors are correct.

could someone please tell me what stones these are please!!!!!!!!

Well my guess of the first one looks like aquamarine. The second i`m guessing on it might be picture jasper
the third could be a polished blue sapphire non gem quality, but not sure. the fourth one seems like labradorite. The 5th one seems like smoky quartz. :bug:

the pix are kinda fuzzy but here go my estimates

1. aquamarine-beryl
2. pale amazonite/clevelandite
4. from what you describe labradorite

the others are too fuzzy for me to even guess

Well we both agree on the 1st and 4th. I was thinking on the second one. maybe it could be larimar as I didn`t notice the light blue aspects of it.Because larimar i have seen is clear .I never saw pale amazonite so clear as that. i`m guessing you have.
Usually the ones i have seen have white curvy stripes in them like other amazonites.
just heard of clevelandite now. couldn`t find any pictures of a polished variety. :awwman:

amazonite from south america often is very pale... see the first pic on zjis page

i havent seen polished clevelandite myself but have some fuzzy rough pictures from one of my communities members

i have been sent some clevelandites from a collector friend in the usa - if i am not mistaken the same who posted the clevelandite pic. I should scan them too somewhen soon, just so we can compare better

I`ll take your word on the cleavelandites. just saw a pic of the rough specimens. had to download the pic on my computer and increased the size. looking at it a tad larger it can appear to be amazonite. But i still think there's possiblity of it being a larimar as well.what do you think.

that could be possible. but like pic #2 expanded it just a little and if you do too you will notice uneven rings on the stone. this could be the possiblity of ocean jasper or moss agate. again this is just guess work for me.

You know what Lightdragon,

that was a fantastic idea to actualy resize the pictures. I have playd with the sizes, and downsized it, so the picture gets less fuzzy

I could also imagine now #2 being a serpentine/talkum stone maybe serpentine quarzite too. you are right about the structure, but those paleness seems not so much ocean jasper like.

downsized #5 looks like agate

i have stones from inida (tumbled ones) that look like the greyish #3

they feel like heliotrope - the very same feel just not the colour.
probably a grey or purple variety of jasper or brecciated jasper

could also be a septaria stone, just missing the cracks with calcite but the colour seems to be purple blue .... oh my realyl hard to guess

as for # 2 again. downsized i understand why you say larimar, but i dont believe it to be larimar much - moss hardness tests would be helpful ;)

resizing #4 makes my jade nephrite theory a bit unprobably, i agree
moss agate with a bit of heliotrope inside makes more sence
cause there seems to be a bit of red in midth of all the green

I was talking about #4 as being ocean jasper not #2.

I can't tell. That would be a good guess for me.

interesting :sunny:

would you believe i thought the red was brown. but accoding to SilvernightShade the stone is green and black and the redness could be light disorting the color. i never thought of the heliotrope. but then again i don`t have too much experience with that stone :(

ok, #3 is actually angelite. when i went to crystal blue today i saw it. and #5 is grey botswana agate.

unfortunately i didn't see the other ones. Thanks for your help though. I think i'll just leave those out of my crystal box.

Thank you for helping tho.

just a hint, take them to a crystal shop or a rock show and ask what they could be. not a afe ebt but could help. OR put thm on a scanner with a good resolution, and post the jpeg of it

makes a better picture
and easier to guess

would have never guessed #3 as angelite simply because it looked grey/purple on my screen
