I took one over the summer at barnes and Noble.com. It was called Healing herbs or something similar. It wasn't magical uses of herbs, but medicinal. It required you to buy two books, but I don't think you really need to, especially if you have an herbal at home or even use one online. The teacher discussed ten common medicinal herbs.

Lemme see if I can find the link for you...

It is found under the Health and Family heading.

Maybe this will help.

Thanks, Chryss! How did you like the course? Did you get the books?

The course was pretty basic, so Wildchild, I kinda think you are way beyond it. But hey, it's free, :D

The course went throught the top ten most common herbs used for medicinal purposes (garlic, gingko, ginger, saw palmetto, aloe, ummm...... echinacea......*thinking*..... St John's Wort.... some others that I can't remember now LOL). He discussed the history and folk uses, the research studies (mostly from Germany) dosages and safety issues. I learned a lot from it.

Like I said, if you have another herbal, you don't really need the books, he gives out a lot of info online that he bases the quizes and assignments on. For me, it was a good structure, a new lesson every few days for 5 weeks.
But again, I think it was very basic infomation and you are a whiz with herbs already.

Someday I'll know hopefully as much as you do (before I am 90 maybe even!:p :eek: )

Good for you! Even if you learn one new thing, or brush up on some other stuff, it will be worth it. Have fun!

Chris

PS- I emailed them requesting an aromatherapy class, maybe if you (and anyone else interested did that) wanted an AT class, and told them, maybe they could add one... Just a thought. :)

Faery-Wings, could you give us a better link or explain better how to find it? I couldn't find any classes at all. :(
Thanks!

well im teaching an online herbal course, where all the students are pacing themselves as they wish. they are at different stages, and im teaching basics right through to advanced. it takes as long as it takes, and theres no time limit, its a purely study as you wish course, as many people have commitments outside of MW. you can take a look by clicking on my sig below, if you are interested.
if you think it is for you, please let me know so i can add you to the record.
and of course, its free! lol
just a suggestion. {door's always open to those who want to learn}
