Hey Everyone,
I can't thank you guys enough for your continual support and prayers. It means so much to us. And has definitely given my spirit, and SHannon's a great boost. *hugs*
Alright, so instead of leaving you guys in the dark I thought I'd write about how she's doing this morning and give you guys an update.
SHe went in for surgery at 1:45pm yesterday. The surgery was only supposed to take an hour, hour and a half at the most. They just wanted to explore the area and make sure the cells around where the tumor had been aren't cancerous. Well, the surgery lasted more than they had planned. Now I have to explain something. She had to be at the hospital for 10am. I drove her in there and got her all set up and stuff. My mom got back in to town and came. When she went into surgery, I had to leave to come home and pack her some things and get some food to bring back for my mom and stuff. My dad was going to pick me up once he was back from Ottawa, which was gonna be around...4 ish. Anyhoo, my mom called me at about 4pm, and Shannon was still in the operating room. As i patiently (ok, not to patiently) waited at home, she called me at 5:30pm and told me that she was finally out of surgery, but no docs had told her anything yet. She was moving into recovery room where she'd be staying there for at least 2 hours so they can keep her under constant observation. At 7:30pm they called me (i had to stay home anyways since I promised to look after my neighbours baby) and told me she was awake in recovery, and they had a chance to see her before visiting hours were over. She looked terrible. Her head was all bandaged up like a mummy, and she had tubes draining fluid from the back of her head. The bandages were soaked with blood and so were the pillows. However, she was awake (super groggy of course) and talking. She said she felt like a 50t truck ran her over, which is understandable, but that she just wanted to sleep it off. She actually asked about me, *sniff* and how come I wasn't there. That made me feel horrible! :(
Anyways, this morning (saturday) we received a call from her. She's been moved into her own room, and got a chance to talk to a resident. BUT of course they didn't tell her anything. URGH! So visiting hours start at 12pm today, so everyone around her is getting ready to go see her. I'm packing her a bag or stuff to do since she'll be in there for at least 2 more days.
That's basically all i know at the moment. I'll be sure to keep you guys posted on what's going on.
Thanks again for your prayers and support.
Brightest Blessings,
Adia
