How cute, I just went through naming a black kitten a couple of weeks ago when we brought this little girl home. My son settled on Vader since we got her the same day we saw the movie.

i have a black fuzzball named Morgan/Mordred... We named him morgan when we thought he was a she, like Morgan laFey from Camelot, but when we found out he was a boy, my dad wanted to name him Mordred, who is Morgan laFey's son... his official name is Mordred, but i still call him morgan because i like the name better... anyways, black cats are so mystical, aside from the stereotypical witch's black cat... maybe name him after a planet or something... I would name him Apollo, i really like that name right now..

The mother cat in the pic I posted above is called Naga.
She likes to play fight alot!

The babies, well, we call one Magellan.
Because he loves to explore.
The girl baby is nicknamed Squeaky, she ALWAYS mews when you pick her up.

It's a boy kitty. He is very laid back and affectionate. Thanks for all of the great ideas everyone. I'm still pondering!

If you want to go with an Egyptian/Kemetic style name, there are lots of great ideas in this thread (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=97415) thanks to serpentine_beauty!

Ptah:Egypt: Ptah, God of Craftsmen, Rebirth and Creation

Amen (Amon) and Amen-Ra, King of the Gods, and the Triad of Thebes. Edyptian...also.

Perhaps a Gods name is a bit much but...than again maybe not! Good luck!

Thank you everyone for the good ideas! My two youngest boys decided they wanted to name him Friday, for Friday the 13th. The boys know alot of people think of black cats as evil or bad luck, and Friday the 13th a bad day. Of cource my kids know better.....
My 4 year old grand daughter wanted me to name him" kitchen floor", so I felt Friday was a much better name. She was a little disappointed.

Thanks again,
Winter Rose

You could tell the kids that the cat's name is "Friday, Ultimate Ruler of the Kitchen Floor" and say that you'll just use "Friday" for short.

A lot of people say that cats have three names anyways -- the regular name, their fancy name, and then the secret name that only they know. (I think that's from T.S. Eliot's cat poems, which was the inspiration for the musical "Cats.")
