My boyfriend's kitty, Cleopatra, was saved by him fairly close to Halloween. She became standoffish after she was with him for a while, but just long enough she was sweet enough for him and his mom to pick her.
When we moved to this magical area amongst the Redwoods to go to school, she became closer to both of us. When I started incorporating witchcraft into my faith, I started to cast circles in our spare room to meditate in. That was about the time she started to become closer to me, and really really wanted to be around me whenever I cast circle or would go into the spare room to read up about Sophia or read my Bible.

My cat, Miss Whiskers, was a stray. She just showed up one day, walked in the door and has been here ever since. One of her fav places to lay is on the bottom shelf of my altar. She never disturbs anything and will often lightly touch a small goddess statue I have on my altar. Her most fav place to lay is right under a pic of my dad. This too she often touches lightly while purring softly. It may be nothing but I like to think she is connected somehow....:whatgives

All cats are magical in their own ways..lol!! Mine came to me because they saw sucker written across my forehead!! LOL!! :bouncysmi
Actually, I've had one, Bolita, that kept me alive. If it wasn't for him I would have killed myself in my teen years. I like to think Bastet had a hand er paw in him coming my way and teaching me so much. It's a long story. He was my other half and almost 5 years after his death I miss him just as much.

My big cat came to me as a stray 8 years ago when she when she was just a little kitten. Her little paws were bleeding from being out on the hot cement and walking so much. Every since then we are extremely connected to each other, even understanding each other, it wasn't until I started on my pagan path, that I realized she is my familiar.
Of course the new little kitten has been a wonderful addition to our family. She has brought her own magic to my son as the big kitty has never liked anyone but me.

I have a black cat named.... Pumpkin.
I got her as an unwanted kitten. Apparently, most people don't want black cats because of old wives tales. She isn't magical at all. BUT she is very intune with our feelings. She also can be very people like. If you talk to her she will meow back- and have a conversation with you. It's pretty cute. She is special, but not magical.

Mine was.. (see my avatar)I got her as a "stray".. we went to a very active cemetary last Samhain and she just decided she was going home with one of us.. (there were a group of us).. The first couple to take her ended up with severe allergies.. (I have had an allergy to cats for YEARS.. so waited until last to take her).. had her two weeks and the allergies stopped..and she became.. MINE.. couldn't stand my roomate or her daughter.. She would be present during ALL my rituals.. she's the first cat i've seen that didn't try to kill my rodents.. and she would just get this look sometimes.. like she wasn't used to this place yet.. First stray I've ever seen that answered to Hecate though.. (we were talking aobut something else and she came to that.. and that alone)..
but then I think my roomate sold her.. (I had a thread about it awhile back.. but after that she also had a LOT of money.. and seeing that this stray was a bengel/savannah cat mix.. she was worth it!_).. grr.. I miss her.. The one my roomate just brought home is nice, but nothing noteworthy magick wise..

cute kitty!
i don't think my cats are all that magical...most of them are the product of many generations of spontaneous unplanned cat sex. but i love them all to bits!!!

All cats are magical, the magic is in the love they bring.

I have one that is my familiar...Merlin. I adopted him and his brother from a friend...his brother, Romeo, is a familiar, but not mine. However, since he's here without his human, he will help me out...in his own good time, of course (lol). My other two, are just sweet, lovable, special kitties.

I don't think my cats are magical, but they seem to think they are.
Well maybe that's because you named one of your cats Magic! :uhhuhuh:

I have a cat named Luna, and I'm not sure if she is interested in being a magickal partner of mine or not..... I tend to do magick outdoors and she is an indoor cat, so I don't see how she reacts to my rituals.
But my personal theory about cats is that they are the one mythical creature that decided to stay on the physical plane, and thus are technicaly not mythical, but very magickal indeed, but being magickal doesn't necessary make her automaticaly my familer....

every cat that i have owned was magical in their own way. herbie (see the pic in my sig) has his own magic. he came to us one day after we lost one of our cats that was real special to my dad. one day my sister came home with him she said she ran in to a friend of hers in the mall and they were trying to sell him to the pet store. he said they wouldnt take him and my sister thought that it would be a nice present for dad since he lost his cat. his name was motzart (cause he liked classical music and still does) but my dad thought that was a boring name so he thought that he would name him after one of his 2 faveorite foot ball teams the chargers and the cornhuskers. he kicked those names around for a bit and one day i was sitting playing with him (he always seemed to connect with me for some reason) and i saw our cornhusker trashcan and it had a pic of herbie the husker on it and i said to my mom "if he wants to name him after a team why doesnt he name him herbie after the mascot" a few mins later my dad came home from work and right as he opened the door he says "i think ill call him herbie"
herbie is differnt than any other cat i have had he doesnt like to cuddle but he loves to be petted, he is always an arms lenght away. he has gotten rather attached to my boyfriend and this is after he hid in my room when ever we had company. he likes to help me work out, read, potty, shower, i guess what ever i am doing he will join me. i dont do magical work at home but i am sure that he would help all that he could.

Over the years I've found that some of our cats have definitely been magical in their nature while others have been resolutely secular, it's probably a witchy gene!

I think cats are magickal in their own way.. and each cat has a different way of expressing their magick. I got my cat when I was seven and she has been stuck to me ever since. She can sometimes be a pain... but I know that when we went to the shelter she picked me.. I didn't pick her

Yes all animals are magical, some more magical than others. In 1991 I got acquainted with Tommy the Tom Cat. He was black and white and hung around the neighborhood. Numerous people were feeding stray cats and I was guilty of feeding them also. I ended up taking care of him, getting him neutered, bathing him, etc. I didn't realize then until I sobered up and he got sick and died. When I got him I thought things were going good, but I was lying to myself. My drinking and drug addiction got worse. I finally hit bottom in 1993 and was institutionalized that August. In for 28 days and then outpatient for six weeks. I was at my darkest days and wanted to die. Tommy kept me going. Who would take care of him, a twenty three pound black and white cat who was not to pretty. I eventually got on my feet, still not steady though, Tommy got sick and died. My life was over. I realized that he is my guardian angel. We were once lovers in a previous life. We were then the same species of course. He was watching for me, saw I was in fatal trouble, came to help, and returned back to the earth.
I Love You Tommy

I don't think he's very magical. He whines a lot, doesn't want to get out of the garage in the mornings, doesn't wander very far from the house, and is almost always asleep. He did somehow survive the first few months of his life on the streets though so who knows. After 8 years of being the king cat of the neighborhood maybe he's just too old to boss the other cats around anymore. Especially with the 15 pound beast that's living next door now.

Yes cats are magickal. My Randell Alan Silkpaws was given to me by my son last year in December. I have been very ill and so I really appreciated him so much. He came and loved me when I was so low. Randell is the most wonderful companion. He goes with me all over my flat. Right now he is in one of his perchs sleeping while I sit here. We have also just finished milk and corn flakes and Cookie Candypants, Randells wife is with me as well. She is sweet and calm and loving. She was my DILS cat, but now she is mine.
My Randell is my familiar. He knows when I need him. He can read my mind. He is so affectionate. I am truely blessed by my magickal cats.
Blessed be the Lady Bast for giving me my darlings.

I have a beautiful cat. She is a pure white Japanese Bobtail, and her name is Snowflake. I think that she is magical is some way or another. When I went with my family to adopt a cat from the shelter, I walked by her cage, and she just stared at me with her beautiful green eyes, and stretched out her paws through the bars of the cage. I held her paw in my hand. And I knew there was no way I was leaving without her :D So, I think it was meant to be. I love her so much! She's my baby!
