Hello friends,

I am at a low point in life and was wondering if anyone knew of a spell and/or crystal that would help bring positivity and light, perhaps something to absorb and remove negative energies and bring on positive ones?

I currently carry rose quartz and tiger's eye with me at almost all times. They definitely help, when I misplaced my rose quartz I was so out of sorts, then out of nowhere it reappeared and I felt better.

Any suggestions?

Whenever I feel low, I first sit and find the root of my sadness, then I light a white candle. It always seems to help me

Amethyst is good for transmuting energy. But I agree with Mist about getting in contact with what is making you feel this way.

Well, clear quartz is also an excellent energy chanel tool. Good vibes or bad, a clear quartz point will send them in whatever direction that you want. It's more a conscious effort than other crystals, but it's also powerful.

Good luck and I hope that you feel better.

Amethyst is also good for calmness, meditation, spirituality, and peace. Rose quartz is good for love of all kinds as well as the loving emotions that go along with it.

You can try grounding them out or imagining a tap in the middle of your back that you can turn on to drain out the negative stuff.

You didn't mention what's giving you negative energies.. If it's someone bothering you or intimidating you you can use a personal shield to deflect their energies.

And of course, as mentioned, you should meditate and try to work out the root of the problem. You might also consider getting help from others.

...write all the stuff that makes you feel sick on a piece of paper (or on a candle if you have one that's big enough), meditate over those negative factors and finally burn the paper (the candle down) you wrote them on. That's a nice sign and ritual to show that you really want to change the bad situation and to make room for positive energies you are going to absorb by doing rituals with Amethysts and similar healing stones.

I refer you to the oft cited Practical rune Magic I in this forum.

Hello again!!

What a wonderful surprise to see all the replies to my question, thanks so much for reaching out and giving me much needed advice!!! :boing:

I will definitely be purchasing some amethyst and clear quartz to try to dispell some of this negativity that is surrounding me right now. And yes I will be doing the candlework as well. Most of my favorite spellwork is done with candles, I just love working with them.

Can anyone recommend any herbs or scents that would help with negative energy? I am having trouble exactly pinpointing what is dragging me down, I know that loss is definitely a key issue right now, my life has been changed so much, esp since I had to move into my parents home!!! I also have been affected greatly by the split between my ex and I, he was one of my greatest friends and spiritual resources, and not to sound crass, but I've had no physical intimacy in almost a year, which is depressing in and of itself, plus my job is emotionally draining and not paying me much!! Essentially, EVERYTHING is screwed up!!

Thanks so much for the advice and for listening!!!

Here's a suggestion for an herbal bag for you.

Make a bag out of 100% cotton in a colour that suggests peace & healing of your spirit. Big enough to hold the herbs but small enough to carry with you. I think light blue would work.

4 apple seeds to bring love and joy to your life. Seeds to represent a new start.

Nightshade to dispel old love memories and to protect you.

Celandine to bring joy to your life and to help lift depression and to protect.

Lavender to bring love, joy & peace & healing of your spirit.

Sage to absorb negativity and misfortune. To lift your spirit and drive away tension.

You can add in the bag a representive of your totem animal if you have one. You can also add in your crystals too. Tie the bag with a cord in a similar colour as the bag. As you're putting the bag together, think of what you want to achieve with this.

I didn't put any amounts here because the amount of herbs used is not important.

Caution: Herbs for this bag is NOT intended for internal use at all.

Thanks WildChild, I am definitely going to try this, could I find the herbs at a health food store, or the supermarket?

It might be hard to find nightshade & celandine at the supermarket but if you have a herb store nearby, they may carry that. Or if there's some kind of occult/new age store too. If you have trouble finding these herbs, let me know & I'll see if I can come up with an alternative.

WildChild,

I have located lavender, as well as sage, celadine I could only locate in liquid form, is that okay? Nightshade I couldn't find, called all the local places. Is there an alternative to Celadine and Nightshade, or could I use the Celadine in liquid form somehow and substitute Nightshade with something else. I will be picking the stuff up tomorrow am, if you can, please let me know.

If the Celadine is in a tincture form, then it should be fine. Because the essense of the plant has been distilled into the tincture. You can sprinkle it with your other dry herb mix or use it to annoint your bag with it.

My mind's gone blank about the nightshade. Can I PM you tonight? I left my notes about your herb bag by my computer at home.

Here's a link with a pic on what nightshade looks like and where's a good place to find it in the wild. I keep thinking tobacco but I'll have to check. I did jot down an alternative but I don't have my stuff here.

BTW, the herbs in this bag is not for internal use at all.

In case anyone's interested...a good substitute for nightshade here would be tobacco & coltsfoot.
