I was just wondering if anyone here would happen to know what I should do to further broaden my spiritual senses, I already have the gift to sense spirits sometimes but I want to be able to do more than that, things that I have the ability to use and would like to develop further are, the ability to heal, and also have the ability to be a medium for spirits and would like to further that more but dont know how to if anyone does please tell me.

You can take classes in Reiki, Healing Touch and Therapuetic Touch to help develope your healing abilities. Not sure about developing mediumship skills.

I am currently trying to develope several of my abilities... and all it takes is practice and more practice after relentless practice.

Perhaps I can offer some advice on mediumship. For me its the thrid eye that tells me what they say. My advice for this would be to reconize you have a thrid eye first. Talk to it like you would another person and try your best not to think out the anwsers in your head so leave it blank as possible. After a while of doing this hopefully you can hear what there saying and its usally the first thing that pops in your head.
I go into a sort of trance. Its nothing like TV where you see the Gypsy talking in another voice and acting all strange. In a way I let the 3rd eye take over and speak whatever it wants. You just have to learn to seperate what your mind is saying and what the 3rd eye is saying. I do wish to offer you some advice though concerning the conversations with your 3rd eye. It tires me out. After a especailly long interface I can sleep for 12 hours easy but as time goes on you build up your endurance.
If you do develop this you must take precautions as to whom you speak with. Many spirits can be mischevious and misguide you so I would be sure to put up your barries against evil and other baddys that are out there first. But once you learn this it can be fun and addicting. Some spirits are quiet and some are as chatty as a women in the bathroom (hides) hehe. It will probally change your life. It changed mine and my perception of things.
I have a few suggestions of spirits that probally would connect are those that represent things that you love. So if your nature buff then try talking to nature spirits since you share a love of the samething. Or your spirit guide (s). Or your protecters and things of that nature.
Lastly, be sure to do your protections and take everything with a grain of salt. Don't believe everything you hear as hard fact. Oftenly it can be a representation of something since some spirits like to speak in terms of symbology.
Hope this helps,
Jody

Firstly decide which sort of mediumship you wish to learn (physical or mental) as the training for each is very different
You don't need to learn trance mediumship if you are looking for simple mental communication
Learn to ground and protect(and don't just perform a general protection spell -actually specify what you want protecting from....if you don't specify your protection may only protect you from a plague of frogs attacking you...(or something like that).
Working in a group does make it easier (ideally a group of 7 or 8) although a "real live" group is best (try locating a spiritualist church) I have trained a interent group before and it has worked

My question here is how do you know what you want protection from? I do disagree to a point with some of your statments and here's why. There are so many things out there to shield oneself against. Anywere from deamons to people sending you physic negitivity. When one is in a trance there minds can be very open and vulenrable to anything that means the medium or the ones they are medium for possible negitive side affects.
One thing I have allways done is when I make my shield Is make it where nothing that has a negitive affect can peratrate it so basically anything that is bad can't get through. Its simple but yet affective. When one makes his or her shield the magic behind the shield knows what your mind wants and needs protection from. I don't know about some of you but when I am doing a ceramony I don't want to be thinking and speaking out all the possible bad things that I want protection from. That alone could possibly bring about the bad spirits.
When it comes to Physical mediumship I have never done that but it does sound interesting. I developed my mental mediumship on my own and me a witch friend talk with them over the internet and we tell each other things that could not be guessed to test ourselfs and it makes both of us hairs on the back of our necks raise up but its fun and develops our abilitys futher.
I know I am somewhat new here but I have been a Pagan for about 14 years and I have allways been solitary due to the fact that there isn't a lot around where I live in the bible belt. I relize there are lots of opinions out there on how to do things and since I had posted in this forum I felt the need to disgree. Nothing against you Soul so don't get me wrong. That may be your way of doing it and thats fine and dandy.

OK when I said specify what you want protection from -saying you want protection from anything bad is fine...so long as you actually say things that are bad harmful etc etc. A heck of a lot of people I have come across say "I want protection" and nothing more. But you are not asa open to attack as most people seem to think -light follows light, your doorkeeper controls most spritis who can contact you, the risks are a lot smaller than most people realise
Second I don't do ceremonys I doh't need them for mediumship
Thirdly what the heck has you being pagan for 14 years got to do with it? I've been pagan all my life (29 years), talked to many people in real life way before the internet existed, taught people mediumship, done public demostrations for 10years now if we've doing a creditials check then that it seems I win but that hardly is important in the great scheme of things
There are many ways of doing things that is true. But I'm just not sure what the point of your post actually is.
Having said that I am actually leaving this board for good today (just got to reply to a few PMs then I am on my way) so nothing against you, but I won't be back to reply to you

I appoligize if I ruffled your feathers. My comment about being a pagan for 14 years was mearly stated as I have been pagan for a while now and wasn't new. I wasn't comparing myself to you or anyone my friend and I appoligize if it sounded like that.
Lastly the point of my post was to state the degrees of protection that one may need when doing mediumship. Again Soul, I didn't mean to knock you or incite any negitive conentation to your post. It was a good post.

I am always finding myself encouraging new walkers to pursue their talents, and never stop (no matter what!). There are a multitude of ways to grow and learn... mentors, books, and self-training (effectiveness in that order). Mentors aren't very plentiful because few have extensive knowledge and experience in many areas, so the next best way to learn is find someone who is experienced in your area of interest, and dig 'em for everything they know. Aside from learning, it's important to gain magickal allies... it isn't very wise (or effective) to be a lone practitioner. Even having resources and friends online beats being totally alone! But if those are both found lacking, the last thing (but least effective) is to use books as your mentors, and train train train.
My natural talents are in clairvoyance, scrying through time, and healing. One very good book I can reccomend to you is Barbara Brennan's "Hands of Light"... it teaches everything about the baasics of energy-working, using energy to further your own talents, and has a lot of color illustrations for clear and concise understanding. But don't limit yourself to just that book... pick some up at a bookstore, and check its quality by pouring through the contents before you buy something that looks flashy (and ends up being dull and unhelpful).
There are also lots of free, online resources to help you on your way.
bkwyrm.net (http://www.bkwyrm.net/) has a lot of reviews on various books. If you see something at the store you like, put it on hold, write down its title and author, and have a look on bkwyrm for more insight.
Do not hesitate to ask questions on MW, or on any other message board. When some people ask questions, they don't often think about the fact that the members who answer sometimes peruse through their libraries to help. We don't all have extensive arcane librariums of ultimate doom - myself included (but I think I have a couple of killer books!) - but we'll do what we can to help. If you can't find your answers here, try hitting up Occultforums or Sacred Magick. There's also endless numbers of mailing lists everywhere, though they're more prone to debate and you've gotta be careful not to get burned by loudmouths.
