Ever heard what they sat about white van drivers? I was on the way into work, about 35-40 minutes ago now, a van pulled out in front of me an stopped. Luckily I was only doing 50-55mph (80-90kph). Nice trail of rubber down the rode from my back tyre, hit the back of the van at about 30mph (50kph). Back end of the bike flew up in the air, my crotch shot forward an hit the tank ~wince~ (not as bad as it sounds actually, for some reason the blow wasn't that hard, though its a lil bit sore) and then when the back end lands again, I wet myself laughing.

All the driver said was, "Sorry mate, didn't see you." Didn't look, more like.

But anyhow, I got his insurance details. Bikes fine tho an so am I. Though, my nuts are a lil tender.

Thanks for listenin, jus wanted to vent. Though, I do see the humour in it.

Visualise:

Back end of the bike flyin up in the air, a guy shootin up above it then landin perfectly on the seat keepin the bike upright an engine runnin while pissin himself laughin.

It's only the centre of me thats a centre of pain. Zadkiel was being kind to me, something made me ask Zadkiel for protection before leaving, normally its, Angels (generalised) Angels of Protection and Michael. Today, for some reason, I tacked Zadkiel on.

Now I know why.

my nuts still hurt, but am fine....

heres a limerick I made on it.

I try to help people be positive wherever I can,
Was laughin my ass of after goin into that van.
It's not a bad thing to have a chuckle,
I'm just glad my forks didn't buckle.
At the end of the day, theres no harm done,
And in retrospect it was, quite a lot of fun.

Van driver here.. (When I don't have ye olde truck, that is).

I find certain people in little sportscars to be more the people who shouldn't be allowed to be on the road.

I dislike Vans (and SUV's) in general. I think they are too big and to boxish looking. They block the view for most drivers either because they have dark tint windows or the windows aren't there.... and most of the time (not all the time mind you as there are always exceptions) they think they own the road, and can pull out in front of you when they are going about 10 to 20 miles slower that you. :2G: I used to drive a car, but it got so bad what with all these big boxes on the road that when it came time to purchase a new vehicle I got a pick up truck with a lift kit so I can see over top the vans and suvs.

Besides, I have a grudge against Vans, particularly white ones, because such a van killed our (my Mom and I's) little Snap Orange Volkswagen Beetle by running a red light and plowing into it. :grrrrr:

I tend to go 10-20 over the limit..:2G:

Eh, I said it wasn't always the case, that there are exceptions.

Eh, I said it wasn't always the case, that there are exceptions.

Aye.

But considering that I've only driven larger vehicles (F-150, Windstar, Aerostar, GMC 1-ton [which model, I can't remember] van) I don't find them to be overly hard to drive..the only problem I have with them is the parking. Oftentimes, there are parking lots designed for the compact car (hell I've seen mid-size cars have problems in certain parking lots) in mind which makes it next to impossible to park an F-150 XLT.

*shakes her head* For the most part, around here, the minivan drivers seem to be the more conscious of the drivers. I'm sure some people here have heard my tales of almost-accidents, of which, there are entirely too many to remember, and only one has involved another minivan.

It also probably depends on where one lives. Here, there isn't a lot of traffic to contend with and rush hour is next to non-existant. I'm sure that driving a smaller vehicle in cities is much more convenient.

I love SUVs. ... I say the worst drivers on the road are the elderly and car service... or at least the most nerve racking... other than that, the bling rim wielding, rap music blazing average teenager would probably be the equivalent of a machine gun shooting nuclear bombs

then again I live in NYC... if some guy is going 20 mph in front of me... ok... WTF... 20 mph? ... you should go and get a bike and get out of my !$!@$% way, DRIVE LIKE YOU GOT A PAIR!!! ... I'm always tempted to use the handy knife I keep in my glove compartment... (for self defense and to cut twine and packaging mind you)

the drivers in NYC are horrendous, all my friends who visit are amazed... the only thing that matches the stupidity of the drivers would be the stupidity of certain pedestrians....

My problem with SUV's/Vans isn't there size, it's the fact that for the most part you can't see around them if you have a smaller vehicle. However, I do drive a large vehicle, like I said I have a pick up truck on a lift kit, so as long as I'm driving my truck seeing around Vans/SUV's isn't a problem.

I agree that the parking spaces seem made for compact cars, I usaully have to park far away because if I did try parking up front my tires would overlap the white lines. This way if I park far away, I don't have to worry about being crowded out to where I can't get my door open when too many people park next to me.
