I performed my first ritual this Saturday, at about 1:15 AM (or 12:15 if you turned your clock back early).
It was a High Ceremonial Sacrafice to her high greatness, Eris Discordia Esoteric following the rites of my ancestors and the High Priests of the POEE and a few I just made up off the cuff (as advocated by the Principia).
I began with a sacred incantation marked the five corners (well, two of them, I got tired of it and skipped ahead). Once that was done, I activated my pineal gland and channeled the words of the Goddess herself, and I exalted in a brief oratory to the assembled worshippers on the rotating of the Sacred Chao, the descent of all things in the cycle of Chaos and maybe something about beer? I don't remember all that well.
Then I invoked Her name, and cries echoed back from the assembled, "Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!" and I lowered the torch down onto the sacrafice - a tan and brown plaid short sleeved button down shirt. Size small. I actually dropped the fuel oil canister down onto the shirt, and it seemed the spark of chaos would be snuffed out. But lo, the sacred lighter fluid did take alight, and I swiftly yanked the canister out before it could heat up and explode and make a great conflagration and burning down most of the woods near my house (that Eris.. she's sneaky.. always tring to tack on a little more chaos than you bargained for).
The shirt burned down to glowing ashes, and I Did Consecrate and extinguish them with a little Miller Lite that I had blessed earlier. It was then, that I was Inspired, and took my Discordian name. Hereforth on I am Legionaire Episkopos Ken The Nameless of the POEE, KSC, MGD, KFC.
Assembled returned to more informal worship back inside.
