this is a real quick and easy way to keep your deck from absorbing a lot of negativity.

Take a small piece of cloth...3 inches by 3 inches should be plenty...put in an amount of kosher or sea salt and tie it up with a string...throw this little bag inside your tarot bag or box and it will help to keep your deck protected from negative energies!

:D

Hmmm...I just thought...does anyone think the salt might have a corresive effect on the cards?! I hadn't considered that...

Hmm.... I don't know. I would think if you planned on doing regular readings, you could put that in the bag/box over night the night before.....other than that....you're guess is as good as mine. I would go by the feelings you are getting off the cards....if they seem to like it....or dislike it/get agitated. And as far as the salt being "corresive"....as long as the salt isn't directly on the cards themselves...I don't see how it could affect them physically.

I must confess, that when I read your first message, the thought of those little "stay fresh" packets that come in new shoes came to mind! lol

I put a little quartz crystal in with my cards. I have one in with my runes too. Salt shouldn't react with the paper unless it get wet.

I dont know I would be a bit worried that the salt my get intot he paper.. so maybe you could do the same with herbs and make a herb mojo bag. You could even draw in the air over your cards a protection symbol.

I keep my favourite Flourite Crystal with my secret deck, and pieces of small quartz with the other two and my runes.

i have the tendancy to keep my stones and Tarot cards is the same bag. I let the stones keep the negativity away from my cards.

Xois ~ Good ide too! You may like to research further for yourself but I think you could use, Frankincense, Sandlewood and Junniper for protection and mix this with Basil and Salt for water and make a little mojo bag :)

How about Rosemary, Frankincense, Sage, Cinnamon bark & Vervain?

I sometimes place a little crystal quartz and an amethyst with my cards :)
I think I am gonna try some salt there sometimes too. :)
