My husband and I have recently had the discussion, as to whether or not Fear is a stumbling block in life. On the one hand, we have fear for a very useful reason. To keep us out of danger. On the other hand, fear can paralyze you, if it is irrational, and keep you from doing the things that you need to do. And yet still, it can also act as a motivating force (ie, if you fear you won't be able to keep a roof over your head, you will be more motivated to work, to acheive financial well being). So..what are your views on fear? Is Fear something which holds us prisoner? Or is that only irrational fear?

This article is also interesting, for those of you who might be interested.

Fear to me is like every other emotion, including anger, depression, bitterness, and so on. I embrace it, understand it, react to the root of it, and move on from it. IMHO to do otherwise (either ignore it or get paralyzed by it) is to leave yourself defenseless or allow yourself to face the same problems over and over.
