Hi everyone,

I'm researching colleges for my daughter. I was wondering if any of you know of any Pagan friendly private colleges. After reading the thread about Boston University (in the political section) I wouldn't want her at a school that was that prejudiced. She wants to attend a small liberal arts college. This is just one more area to narrow down the search. :ack:

I came across a list of pagan groups at different colleges once while I was pulling together a list of options for myself. It mostly will link you to the pages of the pagan group, but it will also tell which school it is at so you can go to that school's website if you can find it. The page is not set up fancily from what I recall, but it might be a start. I hope this link still works.

Hello!
I am a Wiccan who currently attending a small state college. We don't have a Wiccan group, but there are many other groups of interest. When choosing a college I would make sure there are other clubs for her interests as well as Wicca, jusgt in case the group disbands (which happened at my school.) When I found out that the Wicca Group was no more, I found out that they have a Civil War Society. (I am a history Major, so I love that sort of thing. ) What are her interests? Try to find a college that has a variety of clubs and groups. My college also has a "Latte Landing", which is a place wheer you can just go and hang out. I wish you the best of luck in your seach.

Evergreen State in Washington, and UC Santa Cruz in California are both VERY Pagan-friendly, environmentally aware, innovative schools. Highly recommended.

Yes, UC Santa Cruz is VERY Pagan friendly. There are several local groups in the area and, I believe, some students formed their own Pagan club/group/circle on campus. (I'm sure you can find it on the school's page or on the Vox.)

UCSC was actually on my list of potential schools. Very good school. :)

Pagan friendly is only one of the various things we are looking at while picking a school. Her interests are Anthropology and genetics. Hard to find a smallish school with good programs in both those areas. We really don't want her to have the added problems of religion intolerance during her first foray out of the nest. :crylaugh:

Thank you for all the great input.

Blessings,
Kharyn

Don't know about Anthro, but UC Santa Cruz has a reputation for a world-class genetics/developmental biology dept. Here's a link. (http://www.biology.ucsc.edu/ug/recruit.html)

Thanks phoenixsong! I totally forgot about witchvox.8O
Right now she's leaning toward Beloit in Wisconson. But, that could always change several times in the next year. I really appriciate everyones input. Aengus, Thanks for the link to UC Santa Cruz. I think she feels its to big for her liking. She's looking at colleges that are under 2000 students and Santa Cruz far out numbers that.:)

I've been looking at colleges already (I'm only in the 7th grade :)) here in Michigan. For a keyboarding project we typed a letter to a college of our choice and I picked Ferris and got a bunch of nice information. They have a group there called Earth Spirit. But thats only one choice of many.
