View Full Version : Two Questions...

1) don't really meditate often because I tend to have troubles with it. I don't feel sick or anything, cuz I have meditated before, but I don't often. Anyway, my main problem is the fact that I can't always relax enough to get into the meditation state of mind. Usually, I'm concentrating too much on other random things. So, I just don't meditate. Maybe I need to try more often, harder, or something. Any ideas?
2)Well, last weekend I went to Oklahoma with my best friend Miranda. We had a lot of fun, but that's not why I'm posting. Lol. Anyway, a lot of the time, one of us would say something, and the other would be thinking, getting ready to say, or would say the same exact thing at the same exact time. It was so freaky, and we kept doing that the whole weekend. It may just be coincedental, but it happend so many times...I don't know. So, could it mean something? Could we be like..soul mates. I don't know anything about soul mates or anything, but it would sorta make sense. We get along with eachother more than anyone, and now this... hmm...
Any help would be great! I posted them both in the same thing cuz it's easier. If you need anymore info on either of them to help me, I'll gladly tell. :uhhuhuh:

I think the first question you have, you already answered. It is really very difficult to begin to meditate, to keep your mind clear and such. It gets easier with practice. You also have to want to meditate for it to work better. Try meditating once a day, for five or ten minutes. Keep at it for a few weeks, dont get discouraged or give up. Once you're able to do it once a day, try increasing or decreasing the ammount, depending on the situation. In a really stressful week, you may have to do it more than once a day, and on a not-so-stressful one, you might only need to do so once every other day, or every three. The key is to not try too hard. If you have to stress/force yourself to meditate, then it's not working.
On the second question, I'm not sure how to answer. I don't really know much about soul mates, but I'm sure I've seen a thread on the topic in this very forum. I'll check on that in a minute. And I might be wrong, but I think it's just a sign that you're really close to your friend, which is never a bad thing.

I found two MW threads, and I'm looking for more info right now:
http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=99055 (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=99055)
http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=35306&highlight=Soul+Mates (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=35306&highlight=Soul+Mates)
I'm not that sure that those will help you, but they're on the topic.
Random definitions from google search:
Soulmate (or soul mate) is a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a subjective, emotional feeling of deep affinity, friendship, love, strong intimacy or compatibility
Someone to whom you feel a deep connection
Google search results on infomation:

That's all for now, I'll search more later if I get a chance.

Don't worry about it - seriously, nothing will make meditation harder then it should be than worrying :) If you have a random thought, just let it drift by and don't focus on it, once you've mastered the art of letting go... you're meditating.

1) Meditation can be hard if you’re busy wondering if you’re doing it right. One of the things that helped me was yoga. At the end of each session you’re relaxed enough that your mind won’t start worrying if you’re sitting right, if you’re thinking too hard –not enough, etc. A good, gentle, and short program is AM / PM yoga

2) One explanation could be that you two are so close you’ve formed a tight bond and are in tune with each other. Soulmates? could be.

Hmm.. thanks. I seem to be getting the same responses on both questions. So, I'll just try to to try too hard..lol. Then, maybe it'll work.
Thank you Powder Tears for the links. I guess I'm just too lazy to look for them by myself. *blushes* :D. I'm going to look at them right now.
Moon Dust. I've considered Yoga cuz it looks really relaxing and gracefull-if you will. However, if I did do it, I wouldn't have access to a mat or classes. Somehow, I'd have to learn it on my own. That A.M./P.M. thing...what is that about?
hugs!
