OK, I just took in a stray kitten who had wriggled into my outdoor cat pen. This weekend, ANOTHER kitten got into the pen. This one looks a little smaller than the 1st one. It's a brown and black tabby with these beautiful golden eyes. It won't let me touch it yet but seems quite determined to stay in the pen. What?!?! Do they send out mental messages about safe places with food?

they definitely send out messages... thats why all the cats that really need help end up in our yard... anyways, thank you for taking in these kitties, there are way too many out there without homes.. anyone who rescues animals is #1 in my book...

Aren't kittens just the sweetest wee little tykes?!?! :abanana: We were just adopted by a very wee little tyke, ourselves. Just 3 nights ago, I was on my front porch, watching a baby possum run around (well, it was actually running away from me). And out of the shadows (of my car) walks a beautiful solid black baby boy kitty (looks to be about 2-3 months old, fairly fresh out of the litter). Even his nose and the pads of his feet are black. He looks exactly like the stereotypical witch cat, long legs, lanky body, he is just beautiful. Intelligent, knowing eyes. Otherworldly. Mysterious. Mystical. Mesmerizing. And so we have named him Vladdie (Vlad Dracula). My cat, Lillie, does not like him as much as we do, however, and hisses, hacks and growls at him every time he comes near her. We are being understanding, though, and hope some day that she will just tolerate him.
I think maybe they do put out signals, as cats are very mystical animals. Over the 8 years we have lived here, we have fed many cats who have wondered thru the area. They have never taken up residence, but would come visit (and eat) for a few months, then disappear into the night for good. I still remember all of them, some having fathered Lillie's one batch of kittens, and we did name them all. Vladdie is only the second cat that ever decided to live with us, and for that, I am grateful. :hearthear I wish you lots of joy with your new kitties, AutumnWitchie.

I think they do know when a person will help them! I've gotten 10 of them that way and all of the dogs. I don't mind. :jumprope:
