Hi Everybody,

I have been experimenting with doing multi-deck readings. At the moment I have seven different decks I work with: four Tarot (Universal Waite, Dragon [not the Celtic Dragon one], Shapeshifter and Sacred Circle, three other type decks (Animal Medicine, Druid Animal Oracles, Faery Oracle).

I've been getting some pretty interesting results. What I will do is ask the same question of each deck as I shuffle it, then pull one card from it. I then work on the interpretations of each card and try to determine how each card relates to the others (much like determining the patterns of a single deck reading).

So far I'm having a lot of fun with it too, as well as getting interesting results.

Has anybody else done this, and how do you like it?

i do multideck readings...but i do them a little bit differently.

I work with 2 decks...Tarot of Light adn Shadow and the Haindl tarot.

I will do a "regular ol' reading" using the Light and Shadow...If i feel like i want to dig DEEPER (and sometimes I don't!) I will pull the EXACT same cards from the Haindl deck

The Haindl deck really pushes my intitution inward so it can really bring up disturbing or difficult things I need to work on...most times, I am not ready...but when I do, I am never disapointed with the results!

also, It is impossible for me to use the Haindl deck to read someone else...no matter what, I end up reading myself!

Cheers

Should the two decks be compatible?

Good question! I dont think they have to be visually compatible ~ but then again they are probally very compatible! just because you own them both and work with them both! :)

Great thread too! This is something Im going to give a try this week and work more with :) thanks for the ideas!

Does anyone know of any parcific spreads to use for two deck readings? Other then repeating the same spread again for both?

I would think compatiblity would depend on the person...I would perfer them to be as different as possible so as to incite my imagination to a different direction...

I am just starting to work with multiple decks, currently using the Shapeshifter's Tarot, and the Alister Crowley deck, small version. The SS deck I use for the general feel of the situation, and the AC deck I use to get more involved and in depth with it. So far it's worked really well, and I think, for me, I've hit upon a good combo. :)
