Well, I hope no one here lives in London. 4 explosions on the train system an they've blown up three buses, when I started writin this it was 1 bus, now its three. So yeah, now they're closin all the train circuit in London down and they closed reading, the main terminus for London. Eh, kinda chaotic. Casualty count still aint known. Obviously some deaths, lots of walking wounded as well. I'll keep this thread updated.

I just saw it on the news :( Just shocking.
You would think the police would pay closer attention with the G8 in Edinburgh, but apparently not.

Edinburgh's a long way from London (a good 7 hour drive); they're probably looking closer there than here.

that's true, but still London is the capital of the UK, and if terrorists want to attack they usually go for the capital to show their power

London is just the capital of england and wales - Scotland and Ireland each have their own capitals. It looks unrelated to the G8 though; people here are speculating it's more to do with alkaida (but maybe that's the panic talking :nyah: )

Actually Muc, London is the capital of the United Kingdom and of England. Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland each have their own capitals, but only London is the capital of the United Kingdom and they are all part of the UK.

As long as they don't start hurting people who're scared and desperate :(

That's bull that they would hurt people. They are there to take control from the police as their training in these sorts of attacks is better.

yanno, I'm noticing a lot of people gettin wound up. Think it'd do everyone good to stay calm.
As for train stations closed, Reading, Swindon and Brighton. They're closed to stop trains going into London more than they're closed due to possible risks.
Mucgwyrt, please don't take this offensively, but you seem to be kinda cold hearted. Also you seem to get your back up rather quickly, could you calm down some please?

Having just left the British Armed Forces I know exactly what they will be doing there and hurting people is not on the agenda. There is no public order to be kept, they will be helping with sweeps to check for further devices and helping with the evacuation process.

Also likely they'll be closing the M25 or have closed it already.

I was expectin ppl to be gettin on my back irl today, but....after all this..no one seems to give a damn. So it'll probably wait till tomorrow. Why don't you suggest the same thing to them? Say something along the lines of it seems kinda petty when theres people dead and dieing in London thanks to terrorists.
Hope your day improves soon mucgwyrt

I just heard and I'm terrified for everyone there. I find it kind of weird that this happens after London gets awarded Olympics for 2012, Live 8 Concerts, and now the G8 Summit going on there. Very scary indeed.

London is the capital of the UK. Its also the capital of England. Its true that lots of people seem unable to tell the difference between those two statements.
