Welcome to MysticWicks, by the way! It looks like I have the privilege of being the first to do so! YAY! :boing:
Pull up a cushion on the ole comfy chair and have some lemonade! Maybe someone has done some Samhain-related baking they could share...? :D

First off Welcome to MW :D
Hope you have fun here, its a great place
I'm not sure what your firend was talking about. but this might help, A few years back a friend of mine ( who was very new to wicca) Had read somewhere that when you do the circle and call the quarters that each person to do so had to be 'of that element'. The closes that I can figure out is that they were talking about what zodica sign you were born under..... IE an earth sign, say a capricorn would call earth ....
I am not sure where this came from, like I said she had read it in a book somewhere.....
I hope that helps, thats really the only thing that i can think of.... either that or she's watched to many witch shows.....

 :rotfl: The Craft as we all know, is unfortunately a very popular movie that a lot of teens take seriously!! My friends daughter is a follower of "The Craft"...she claims to have levitated her friend!! And made someones hair fall out!!

Mystic...Welcome and Merry Meet!:D Try not to concern yourself with what others tell you...do some research and find your way to your own path! Their are many people from many paths on this board who can help you!

Welcome and merry meet! :)
Eesh, that sounds weird. I know what you mean, though-- when I was first starting out I had a "friend" tell me that we had to find two other people to recruit to be in our coven so we could form a circle before we did anything, and that she'd levitated by accident while meditating.
This same friend "confessed" to me years later that her boyfriend had been bitten by a werewolf over the summer.

lol it reminds me of a friend of mine who, upon finding out my religion, told me his ex girlfriend was a Witch.. and she ended up breaking up with him because the voices told her to. "Hm, no hon, that's not Witchcraft, that's schizophrenia" :)

one question
when you say wiccan,
does she mean Pagan
or wiccan in the true wiccan religion
there is a reason I asked,
I know everyone hates labels but this one is important
Old witch, Ive never heard of it either thats why I asked that question....
If one is that knowledgeable to answer that question, then IM sure it will answer the other question in itself...
if she means wicca, as in what she has seen on tv then I suggest she reads, Grimasy's "the wiccan Mysteries" for a propper historical/overview of what wicca really is

I just got back to the board but I did a little research in the books I still have, and because I have a lousy memory,(CRS syndrome),I still can't find anything like that. :eyebrow:
:elf:
Is that a run on sentence or what?

oh dear...I have no clue either. Well...the show "Charmed" has witches, warlocks, whitelighters, demons, furies, windigo's..etc, etc, etc. Perhaps your friends "elements" came from some sort of show like this.
Anyway, welcome to MW!!!!! Glad to have you among us!
