Have you guy's been watching the news... There's a category 4 Hurrican comming to Mobile Beach and I looks real bad.... I am sending my positive thoughts to the people that live there, I hope you all will too.
The funny thing is, is that this is Called Hurrican Dennis, and I know a Dennis that is a very bad guy so it sort of fits lol.
Any way good luck to any one in that area and I hope you stay safe. _inabox_

I see things are deteriorating rapidly in Pensacola and Mobile. I'm keeping anyone around there in my thoughts too. I'm only hoping that being on the east coast of FL here we are spared this season but I'm not so sure now seeing what's happening so early in the season now. After 2 last year here.....:hugz: for anyone who lives up that way.

Half of my family are in Pensacola. My baby sister and her family evacuated to Georgia yesterday morning. My Grammie said she wasn't going, but my mom can't get her or my aunt on the phone, so she thinks my aunt finally convinced her. We haven't heard from my other sister yet though.

I'm glad I moved from there, and wish I could convince my baby sister to move back to Texas with me.

I've been keeping my eye on it and it sure looks nasty. I'm on the east coast of Florida as well, so we're only going to be getting the outter rain bands, but my thoughts and prayers are for those in the Panhandle and Alabama :hugz:

Definitly been keeping an eye on it here. I was up at 6 am this morning to check on things when I saw it was a catagory 4 with winds at 145 mph!! As of 15 minutes ago, it's down to 140 mph. Things are slowly going down here, with some of the outter bands moving in..we've gotten periods of heavy rain and there's a light rain falling right now. But they're saying it's going to get worse even way up here. We're about 157 miles or so from Mobile and this thing is HUGE! We're prepared for the power to go out.

Looks like we'll get plenty of rain from it as it moves inland and maybe a stray tornado...you all on the Gulf coast stay safe...

Working on it now, let me know how it pans out, it shouldn't hit too hard . . . maybe a level 1, or tropical storm level.

Yeah yesterday when the parts of the storm started to hit the Tampa Bay area it was wicked out there on the 1-75. The wind was whipping around and the rain was hard. You could see stuff being tossed about in the air.

Dennis is about to make land fall. It is currently a catagory 3 with winds at 120 mph. We're getting heavy rains right now and they are expecting winds to gust at hurricane strength of 75 mph in the Montgomery area. They are also saying "when" the power goes out, not "if". And you know it's bad because all the area Wal-Marts have closed!! Mayor said it's mandantory for all businesses to close at 2 pm, which is about right now. Not sure about some businesses for tomorrow, but all schools and judicial buildings are closed. Right now, we're getting wind gusts of about 30-40 mph.

Hmmm. You guys are saying 2 and 3 . . . my sister and cousin are in Destin, just east of Pensacola and they say it's got up to a 4 before it hit. About 2 hours ago, they lost power. They called, then lost power. I've tried calling again since then and haven't gotten an answer on their cell phones. . .

Okay . . . yeah read on AOL it was a 3 just before it hit. I found a report from Fort Walton Beach which is about 10 minutes away from Destin. I wish someone would call. :(

I haven't heard from anyone but my baby sister so far, who had evacuated to Georgia. She says that's it - she's finding a way to move back to Texas after this.

Now I'm getting a bunch of "all circuits are busy" messages. I can't imagine why! :p

Well, it sucks but it didn't hit here as hard as they said it would. I say it sucks because this is the 2nd time they said it was supposed to be really bad and it wasn't. I have a feeling that the next time, it's going to be a "the boy who cried wolf" type thing. They'll say it's going to hit really bad and people won't believe them and they'll do nothing. But it will hit really bad. We had some strong winds and we got a couple inches of rain, but nothing worse than that. No loss of power even. I was outside most og the morning picking up branches all over the yard though!! It did strengthen to a Catagory 4, it made land fall as a 3. I hear things are pretty bad in Pensacola and Panama City. And even areas of Atlanta got some bad flooding.
