    I know this is an ooooooold thread, but http://www.sacred-texts.com has out of print books to view online for free. Good site, thought I would give it a plug.

    I'm going to make this a sticky topic (I thought there was one like this already but there wasn't.)

    Here's another good source for tracking down old and out-of-print books to purchase:

    http://used.addall.com/

    and also http://www.bookfinder4u.com/used_book_stores.html

    You can also search on http://www.ebay.com too.

    For more places to read texts online or as free ebooks, check out the sticky threads http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=118656 and http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=54567

    This might sound like a really dumb question but why is that website (the first one in the thread) putting Amazons prices on there as well when Amazon are cheaper?? Seems a bit stupid to me!

    On the Kessinger site you'll see the books listed with their full prices. On Amazon, they are often listed with a discount added so the price ends up being cheaper.

    On the Kessinger site they link to Amazon for each book so you can surf over there to buy the book complete with discount.

    Publishers don't get to tell Amazon if and what discount to set. All they can do is identify the full price.

    This is the upenn online library, they have mostly out of print books but tons of periodical and open source information.

    Limited downloads per day but a good resource for the classics.

    Another site to add: Forgotten Books
    Books can be read free of charge (online) or can be purchased (paperback) for a low cost.

    "...You are a child of the universe;
    no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here.

    And whether or not it is clear to you,
    no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
