    well magnetite would be highly magnetic. so we can rule that out. how big is it? what shape?

    my piece doesn't turn the water red. Probably only the unpolished rocks.

    I figured. the unpolished stuff turns red because hematite is iron based, so the ore rusts realy fast, so the water turns red.

    actually the true color of the stone is red. Some of the stones are even red, some are grey. But they will all give you a red streak.

    This piece is small, and polished. It has a few dents/pores that seem to contain a rusty looking material....

    This one's polished too. I can't really describe it. It has a black-brown color. I just noticed that it's sparkly....and covered in cracks....
