I think it can be paler than that. It certainly looks the same as that though.

Rutilated quartz usually occurs as rutilated rock crystal, rutilated smoky quartz or rutilated milky quartz.
Rutilated quartz forms in quartz veins, usually with milky quartz bordering the vein with quartz crystals growing in toward the center, growing around and enveloping the rutile crystals traversing the vein. So yes, it's likely milky rutilated quartz.

As for that cat... I dont know. Given the size I don't think it's semiprecious, but it might be some sort of marble. I think you're in Aust. right? What's an op shop?

ha ha ha An Op shop is an 'oppurtunity shop'. Sorta like a second hand store, but run by charities like St Vincent De Paul and such.

I have been told that it might be Prase Agate.

I just found these on ebay.... The site says they are Prehnite. They look almost identicle to my cat. Though my cat is a little darker in colour. But i think it just might be. What do you think???

Hahaha, I graciously accept your worship :P

As for the cat, I've done a little research.. If it's a translucent sort of pale to deep grass-green and too hard to be scratched by a steel point it would be almost definitly chrysoprase, which comes from Australia and is essentially chalcedony stained by nickel compounds.

Worth a shot, but I don't have a photo to show and I'm having a hard time finding it online...

    Some call it Australian Jade.

I was also thinking that it looks like Serpentine a bit. But it should appear waxlike then.
