They're absolutely breathtaking, but I do not use them for divination - or in fact much at all.

I've seen some people put the sign on the flat side, but I have mine on the rounded one. I got mine at Wal-Mart, in the craft section for like a dollar. They make all types of colors, too. But just make sure you have a ink/paint that'll show up well on the background. I chose clear because it was neutral (some people pick a color for its symbolism, etc)...
It's been my experience with painting runes on the glass 'pebbles' that you should put a finish over them, to help prevent the sigils rubbing off. I always recommend clear nail polish... relatively inexpensive, just the right size (ya don't have a quart of lacquer left over), & comes with it's own handy li'l paint brush... plus you can paint your toenails when your done with your runes... :hehehehe:

Rick: I need one of those.
Elise: You need a tractor with a backhoe & a front loader? What on earth for?
Rick: To dig holes in the backyard. It's OK, I'd fill 'em back in...

I used the glass beads myself. Instead of painting a carved the mark into the bead with a dremel... works really great *if* the surface they are lying on is really dark. So I've decided to paint in the lines that I have already carved. Thanks for all the hints!

I used a metalic ink pen to write the runes onto the stones or glass beads, and yeah, then sealed them with clear nail polish.

Had no idea you wore toe nail polish Rick. Kinky!

Here you go, Rick. My camera doesn't seem to want to do close-ups with ease, which surprises me. Also, the metallic nature of the coins caused me to get 1 remotely good pic out of all that I took.

The second one is for the purpose of showing size.

Yes and make sure when you are sealing them, that the finish does not smudge any of the runes ... it makes for one sticky mess...

    Wow Aidron those are nice

You can also get paint pens made specifically for use on glass at most craft stores- come in lots of colors and are only maybe $4 or so each.

My runes are made from labradorite. One of my favorite stones ever.

I want to get a set of the Greek alphabet oracle made from quantum quatro (a stone that consists of dioptase, malachite, azurite and arg...I think the other is shatukkite in a base of smoky quartz.) It's not a particularly commonly-used stone, so I'm going through the same people from whom I bought my runes, but i'm getting the stones myself and going to send them to them, and they'll carve and paint the letters and send them back to me. I've got about half the number of stones I need now, I just need to get the rest- maybe I'll do that this weekend.

    Thanks. :D

If it wasn't for that fact that I feel as if I'd be disrespecting Odin and the rest of his pantheon in using them, I'd totally force Rick to teach a class and take it.
