    Exclamation Breakthrough Emerges.. Antimatter Photographed

    however:
Even as they announced the important advance in studying antimatter, they emphasized that science fiction uses of the stuff -- like propelling the starship Enterprise in "Star Trek" or fueling a bomb in Dan Brown's book "Angels and Demons" -- remain in the realm of the imagination.

Is it wrong I've been waiting for this for years?? (And I totally want Star Trek warp drive, like now please.)

This is also a recent article on an attempt to find dark matter, the sort of kin to anti-matter... but waaaayyy more elusive: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/17/sc...ce/17dark.html

Doubt it. Here in America, the technology is not banned for research and development by small companies. The Stimulous laws opened it up for federal funding to small companies and is being explored.

google quantum entanglement. It could happen. actually there's a theory called the "heim theory" that's made a few successful predictions and allows for warp drive as well. Both AFAIK are pretty energeticly expensive, but very cool reading.
