    Unhappy

I'm sorry to announce that actress Lynne Thigpen died suddenly Wednesday nite at age 54.

Being a fan of hers, this news was more than just a little upsetting.

There is still no cause of death at this time.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the name, Ms. Thigpen was an amazing character actress. She won a Tony award 1997 for her portrayal of a black-jewish feminist in "An American Daughter". She later reprised that role for the movie.

I remember her for her quirky role in the movie Godspell and she was currently co-starring in the CBS show "The District."

She's been in such movies as: The Insider, Tootsie, Bicentennial Man, Shaft (2000) as well as many, many others.

Parents may know her from her years on the Carmen Sandiego series as well. Also as the voice of Luna on Bear in the Big Blue House.

May she rest. She was a truly great soul.

Oh gods! I loved her. She was a terrific actress. What a loss.

And what a shock, she was only a couple years older than me.

Oh no! I thought she was a great actress, but I loved her on 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.' (I loved that show even though I was really 'too old' to watch it).

I suppose this is the appropriate forum for this.

    In Memorium of David Bloom.

A fantastic journalist for NBC, he passed away in Iraq of a pulmonary embolism.

Richard Bloom was energetic, innovative, and will be deeply missed by the media community, as well as by those who looked foward to his reports.
