    "Some people would rather die than think, in fact many do so." - B. Russell

    "Punishments inflicted with signs of anger are useless." - I Kant

    "Can't you see what's plain as day,
    It's always been there inside of you.
    One saving grace that's hard to face.
    Embracing the truth will change your fate.
    It's up to you and the path you choose,
    To be led to the slaughter or lead the way.
    The quest for light, a worthwhile fight
    Will you have what it takes?
    Come what may." - J Schaffer

    Hell's kitchen and Kitchen nightmare.
    Wounded I hung on a wind-swept gallows
    For nine long nights,
    Pierced by a spear, pledged to Odhinn,
    Offered, myself to myself
    The wisest know not from whence spring
    The roots of that ancient rood

    They gave me no bread,
    They gave me no mead,
    I looked down;
    with a loud cry
    I took up runes;
    from that tree I fell

    -Hides in shame-

    No wait, the Barefoot Contessa too.

    That woman can't make ice cream (or anything else) without putting a pint of booze in it. Hilarious.

    Bourdain's No Reservations
    Bizarre Foods - Andrew Zimmern
    Hell's Kitchen
    Top Chef & Top Chef Masters
    Any food shows they play on PBS - Julia Child, Jacques Pepin, Rick Bayless, Food Everyday, Avec Eric

    I will occasionally watch Ina Garten and Alton Brown but I rarely put on the Food Network; the station has turned into a variety channel, I prefer the Cooking channel which stays more true to the food, not the schtick of the host/cook/chef.

    "PETA doesn't want stressed animals to be cruelly crowded into sheds, ankle-deep in their own crap, because they don't want any animals to die-ever-and basically think chickens should, in time, gain the right to vote. I don't want animals stressed or crowded or treated cruelly or inhumanely because that makes them probably less delicious"...Anthony Bourdain

    I've seen Bitchin' Kitchen a couple of times - I didn't watch it for the food, I watched it because of her "accent" which is what many people in my borough of NYC sound like.

    I like seeing what unusual ingrediences she uses. like candied hibiscus.
