    I'm very much enjoying the show so far. A few characters look different to how I imagine them, but it's nothing major enough to jar me, except for WHY IS JAMIE NOT BLONDE?? His hair colour is basically brown, but it should be the same kind of colour as Cersei or Joffrey (and dear god can that actor convey contemptuous arrogance or what?).
    Also, has been pointed out, Gregor is *way* too small. I'd always imagined Gimli, but the size of Andre the Giant.

    Definitely looking forward to seeing more of this
    And I must dig out Feast of Crows and try and actually complete it this time.. burned through all the other books really quickly, but that one just.. bogs down. Maybe it's too much PoV of characters that I just dislike.

    Ah, AFFC.

    Enjoy your fat pink masts and Myrish swamps. And leaking breasts.

    Taciturn and prudent, and in war daring, should a king's children be;
    joyous and liberal every one should be until his hour of death.

    Jamie is not really what I imagined ... and yeah, he could do for more blonde. However, the actor that plays Jamie reminds me far too much of Dennis Leary ... which makes it very hard to pay attention to his arrogance

    I hate to admit I will too, even if he was a psycho and he really did have it coming.

    NED'S DEAD, BABY. NED'S DEAD.

    I read these books when I was about 13 years old. I completely forgot how traumatic it was for Sansa, having to watch that. I got the fear when the ep began with a close-up of Ser Ilyn's blade, dripping with blood and (I imagine) saliva.

    I bought the paperback boxed set of 4 last week (used). I can't wait to get started on them. My best friend has already devoured the first 2 books on her Kindle.

    Yes ... I was traumatized when Ned died in the books. I almost stopped reading the series because of it, same thing happened after I read about the Red Wedding ... UGH I hate and love George R. R. Martin!!!

    When characters that seemed important die like that I always have to read the last half of the chapter again just to make sure they actually died.
