    Hey! No tackling without me!

    On topic, I'm reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransome Riggs
    "...You are a child of the universe;
    no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here.

    And whether or not it is clear to you,
    no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

    Therefore be at peace with God,
    whatever you conceive Him to be..."

    "PETA doesn't want stressed animals to be cruelly crowded into sheds, ankle-deep in their own crap, because they don't want any animals to die-ever-and basically think chickens should, in time, gain the right to vote. I don't want animals stressed or crowded or treated cruelly or inhumanely because that makes them probably less delicious"...Anthony Bourdain

    I read it. I wanted to like it. I tried to like it. I HATED it. And it's going to be a trilogy.

    Also, found out recently there's talk of making it into a movie.

    I just finished The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. For a Catholic, he gets it, I think. It's a good read. I have Aleph in my stack to read as well, which is supposed to be an account of his story rather than fiction.

    I'm in the middle of reading Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. It is a historical novel about the battle of Gettysburg during the Civil War. His descriptions and maps of troop movements demonstrate a lot of research, and you feel like you are there when reading it. The author did a terrific job, and now I want to read more of his books.
