    Question Oils in Incense Question

Ok, this is probably a total newb question. So, I give you full permission to laugh at me for it.
In incense recipes that call for, say, a few drops of lemon essential oil or peppermint essential oil, would it be ok to substitute a few drops of lemon extract or peppermint extract?
    Onward, ever striving onward,
Proudly on our brooms we fly.
Straight and true above the tree tops,
    Shadows on a moonlit sky.

Ne'er a day will pass before us,
When we have not tried our best.
    Kept our cauldrons bubbling nicely,
    Cast our spells with zest.

    Fearless Witches, never flinching -
Through the dark and dismal nights.
Ghouls and ghosts and nightmare monsters,
    Run away in fright!

When in flight, quite a sight to see!

first up. the only questions worth laughing at are the ones not asked.

for me yeah. because you are getting the essence of the plant. i would avoid synthetics. but that is just me.

For potions, yes, but incense has to be burned. Extracts aren't always volatile, even with an alcohol base.

I've had excellent results using natural extracts and flavorings in incense, and they burn quite nicely as long as the rest of the ingerdients do.
