"The Witch" A New England Folk tale

If you have seen it what did you think?

imo the end just seemed out of place with the rest of the movie

Husband and I actually saw it in theaters. I was kind of "meh" about it at first (mostly because the audience we were in wasn't that great), but the more I thought about it after, the more I found myself having enjoyed it. I really loved experiencing the audio in the theater vs having watched it at home (which was what I would've done if we hadn't been able to catch it in theaters). What about the ending did you think felt out of place?

Everything at the end happened so fast and the rest of the movie was so slow (imo)

    ***spoiler***

    and the bad witches "won"

I suppose it was meant to throw criticism on the church and the fact the parents were thrown out for not wanting to be a part of a community

they got too fevered and extreme with their religion and let their children suffer because of it

    maybe it was payback time
