    21st Century Magic

Does or should our magic methodology or technology change with the times. What changes do you see in the 21st century? Do you think your magic changes more because of your own inner changes and growth or with the changes in the Pagan community or the society at large?

Society and culture does a LOT to influence ritual and such. Shamanism came form the Native Americans, tribal peoples from around the world, etc. Witchcraft rose in India and Europe. Kabbalah came from the Middle East. You get the picture. But with the advent of technology, there's new systems running around, such as Chaos Magick, and fractal-working and such.

Inner growth will influence what you work magick on, and how you do it. But the world at large creates situations for magick to be used with, and cultures vary widely.

Computers and the internet have had a profound effect on my study of Wicca, I was spured to read more by some of the more acerbic and erudite folks who haunt beliefnet. I owe the internet the fact that I know Pagans who are not total flakes.

Agreeing. The internet has changed religion and will change it even more. In return, religion will change internet, as we see happening all around, i.e. the forums we use for our discussions.

The only problem is that there is an awful lot of inaccurate stuff there. So much that I tend to be more willing to put up with all the copyright violations on so many sites.

It wouldn't be fun when everyone agreed.
