    Cool

One of the first pagan books that I read was Hedgewitch by Rae Beth. It opened my eyes to the fact that there were people out there who thought the same way as myself.

    recomended

I would say that The Magical Almanacas are a must have, and Witch by Fiona Horn is good. Hexcraft by SRW is good for beginers or Christians that wnat to do magick.

Janet and Stewart Farrar "The Witches God" and the "Witches Goddess".

    "Advanced Wicca" Patricia Telesco
"Coven Craft" Raven Grimmassi (i think..read it a while back)

and oddly enough..a small book with a LOT Of info...

Marion Wiensteins.."the Ancient Modern Witch" (a book based on a series of lectures she gave in Greenwich Village, in the late eighties or early nineties.) The Samhain lecture is INCREDIBLE!

    Actually, I think it's by Amber K. I haven't read it, though.

My recommendations (some of these will be repeats):
    • The Spiral Dance by Starhawk: an absolute classic!
    • The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries by Z. Budapest: a must if you are interested in Dianic Wicca
    • Book of Shadows by Phyllis Currott: a well-written personal story about finding the Craft (not a "how-to" book)
    • Wicca and Living Wicca by Scott Cunningham: classics as well. Also, any other Cunningham book is worth reading
    • When God Was A Woman by Merlin Stone: excellent book about Goddess cultures and where they went. Not the easiest read, though, but worth it: quite academic
    • Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler: the first (I think) extremely thourough investigation into the establishment and growth of the neo-pagan movement

I may have more to add in the future.

    helpful books

    "Positive Magick" by Marion Weinstein

    "True Magick" by Amber K

"The Witches' Bible" by Janet & Stewart Farrar (contains two of their books rolled up into one, very helpful)

"The Witches' God" and "The Witches' Goddess," also by the Farrars. These to me are very informative and helpful.
